$1,140.00 $1,368.00

Taking performance inspiration from the venerable Nagler series, then combining the optical design properties of both an eyepiece and Barlow, the Tele Vue Panoptic 27mm Eyepiece - 2" Wide Anglehas a 6-element/4-group lens configuration that produces a generous 68° field of view and improved edge-of-field performance, while minimizing size and weight.

This eyepiece produces a relatively low magnification making it ideal for wide-field observations of the universe and most lunar, planetary, and deep-sky needs. It is outfitted with fully multi-coated optics to maximize light transmission, color rendition, and contrast, with blackened lens elements that limit internal light loss and diffraction. Its long 19mm eye relief provides ample room between the lens and eye to prevent accidental contact that can interfere with views. This model has a large 2" barrel diameter to make it even more comfortable to view through, and a textured rubberized grip for sure handling. This eyepiece is parfocal with the 41mm Panoptic eyepiece, requiring little or no refocusing when changing between the two.

Q: 1. Is this a good eyepiece and is it compatible with the Celestron Nexstar 105 GT telescope?

A: Televue Panoptics are excellent eyepieces. Very sharp, clear images. To determine if an eyepiece is compatible with your telescope you first need to calculate your telescope's Maximum True Field of View, then calculate the eyepiece's True field of View. Eyepieces that have a True Field of View greater than your telescope's Maximum True Field of View will cutoff the image and have chromatic aberrations around the edges. Generally speaking, it does not hurt to go a little over tFOV with quality eyepieces, but the more the eyepiece's tFOV is over the telescopes's max tFOV more of the image is cutoff and the worse the chromatic aberrations get around the edges. There are several very good free eyepiece calculators available on the web to calculate Max tFOV, and help determine eyepiece compatibility.

Q: 2. are the Delos series eye pieces par-focal?

A: Yes it is. This is parfocal with Tele Vue Group B eyepieces so no refocusing is required when switching between eyepieces within the group.

Q: 3. How will this TV 32 mm plossl work in a Celestron C5 spotting scope?

A: The Celestron C5 127mm f/10 50x Spotting Scope (OTA Only) BH #CEC5SB • MFR #52291 came with a 25mm eyepiece The Tele Vue Plossl 32mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #TEEPL32P • MFR #EPL-32.0 is a upgrade eyepiece becaus og better glass and coatings on the elements

Q: 4. Could I use this with my Meade 125 etc?

A: If your telescope has a 1.25 eyepiece opening then this eyepiece will work. To determine if your scope does I will need to know the exact Meade Model that you have.

Q: 5. Good day,I got a Celestron NexStar Evolution 9.25 last week and from the reading it seems that it would benefit greatly from better eyepieces than the supplied stock ones. The telescope has Focal Length 2350 mm and Focal Ratio 10.I'm reading good things about the TeleVue Ethos.I was thinking about getting the Ethos 21mm. Would that be a good choice for my telescope? Also the Ethos SX 4.7mm, but maybe it would be too much power for my telescope? The supplied stock 13mm seems quite shaky as it is, using it from my apartment balcony. For the Ethos 21mm I would need 2 diagonal. Would TeleVue 2 Everbrite Diagonal - Satin be a good choice? Would it fit my telescope?Or maybe the Meade Series 5000 Dielectric Diagonal (2 ) as it seems to be supplied with Schmidt-Cassegrain to 2 adapter?Would there be a big difference between these two diagonals in the picture quality or not really on my telescope? What is the advantage of getting Ethos 21mm and Ethos 10mm versus Ethos 21mm and a 2x Barlow?Any advise/recommendations would be appreciated.Thanks.Regards,Andrej

A: I would personally go with the 21mm Ethos model. The 4.7mm will be overkill I think. You could still use it, but you would notice some shake for sure. I would go with the Meade 5000 Series for the Diagonal that would be a better choice. Q: 6. Does this require dioptrx adapter?

A: No, not necessary. The Tele Vue Nagler Type-6 9mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #TEEN69N • MFR #EN6-09.0 should work in any telescope that takes a 1.25" eyepiece.

Q: 7. Is it advisable to use a barlow lense with Televue eyepieces?

A: This is a fairly high powered Eyepiece. I would only go with a Barlow if you had a Scope with a large Objective around 8", and up.

Q: 8. how do you know what type of eye piece works best with your telescope? Is there a rule or formula to calculate it, if you work with refractor/reflector, and if you add a barlow lens?

A: For example, to calculate maximum power of a telescope, a 90mm diameter scope will have a 180 maximum power. Please call in for further info .

Q: 9. What is country of origin ? Tele Vue 13mm Ethos 2 / 1.25 Eyepiece with 100 degree.

A: Taiwan, Republic of China

Q: 10. Are Televue Ethos eyepieces made in USA? Ie are they NAFTA qualified?

A: The Tele Vue Ethos-SX 3.7mm Ultra Wide-Angle Eyepieces, are made in Taiwan, and are not NAFTA qualified.

[68°] I took advantage of a recent sale and got a couple of great Tele Vue eyepieces. This is one of them. The wide field of view is optical perfection--color, contrast, sharpness. Eye placement isn't troublesome. Works great on my Tele Vue refractor and my other telescopes.

[19.0 mm] Another impressive eye piece from Televue. High quality optics with a wide angle FOV. A must have for your eyepiece set! The quality is worth every penny I paid for this eyepiece. A very worthwhile upgrade, only regret is I wish I did this sooner!!!

[5 x 3.2 x 3"] A great low-power / wide-field eyepiece for a larger Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCT) telescope. This is one of my two most used eyepieces (the 27mm Panoptic being the other). It gives the maximum field-of-view possible for a 2 eyepiece. Very nice for viewing nebulas, open clusters, and larger galaxies. This eyepiece is best used on a large (11 or larger) SCT telescope that has been modified with a 2 visual back. Smaller SCT's do not provide the full 2 visual path that this eyepiece needs. A 24mm, 27mm, or 35mm Panoptic would be better low-power choices for them. Also, Dobsonians and other scopes with shorter f-stops (like f5) would waste light by producing too large of an exit pupil. A 31mm Nagler or 21mm Ethos might be a better choice for those.Very sturdy eyepiece. I accidentally dropped mine on the pavement and dinged it up a bit, but the optics were undamaged.A fairly big and heavy eyepiece, but a large SCT won't even notice.

[27.0mm] I have several Tele Vue eyepieces, ranging from the 9mm, 13mm, 17mm and 20mm Naglers and a 41mm Pan. I decided I needed something to fill the gap around the 30mm mark. I am so pleased with this purchase, the view is 'tremendous' in this eye piece, a tad less wide than my naglers, however you fall into this image... No need to scan the eye piece for the 'full' view...like y naglers, everything is right there in your face...LOVE IT. I also use this with a 2x and 4x Powermate and there is NO loss of resolution, only a nice sharp eye piece with excellent color and contrast. Well done Tele Vue.

[5 x 3.2 x 3"] There is nothing much new to add to this amazing eyepiece. This and his bigger brother Pan 24 mm, best and most popular eyepieces ever made. With it's precise optics and value glass elements, have 68* of AFOV, in my scope, it turn to be the many-times-use-during-the-night eyepiece. with focal length of 2500 this EP makes an magnification around 130x which is very good for globulars and galaxies. Would recommend this EP any time.

[30.5 mm] I'm an amateur astronomer on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia I have an 8 Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain with a Tele Vue Everbright diagonal. Yesterday I received my 19mm Tele Vue Panoptic from B&H. I had already purchased the 24mm Tele Vue Panoptic from B&H and until last night it was my stand alone favourite - now it's my equal favourite! I had the chance to use both last night to view Jupiter in all its glory, Red Spot included! In combination with the 2x and 3x Tele Vue Barlow's, again from B&H, the views were phenomenal. I could easily see detail in the smaller bands heading up towards the poles (magnification of approx 320x with the 19mm Panoptic and 3x Barlow), and this was from my backyard with moderate light pollution - can't wait for a clear night to go up to the hills. I am so glad that I chose to purchase the large eye relief wide field Panoptic's and combined them with the Barlow's to achieve a wide range of magnification. Easy viewing with the large eye relief and no issues with kidney beaning with the 3x Barlow or perceptable loss of field flatness, brightness or colour. Now to purchase the 2.5x Tele Vue Powermate to fill in the gaps! B&H are excellent suppliers to Australia with tracking for parcel delivery and the products arriving within 2wks. I love the free torches, great for looking in dark places. Thanks B&H, I have my Fantastic Beast and I know now where to find more!

[27.0mm] Used two of these in an APM 82mm bino-scope for the total eclipse, performed admirably and in a nice small, light and comfortable viewing form factor. Definitely keepers and I look forward to the views at night!
