Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the HDMI out maximum video resolution and fps?

A: The A77 II will have clean HDMI output for use with an external recorder. So, this should be 1080 at up to 60p. Also with the HDMI output, you will be able to capture 4:2:2 to an external recorder, as compared to 4:2:0 internally.

Q: 2. I own a Sony 6300 and a couple of lenses. The sony 6300 and the A7 seems to use the same Sony E lens mount. Does it mean that my lenses would work fine on theAony A7 ? (I would be ok with some vignetting for exemple).

A: Your lenses will work but if they are cropped sensor lenses, you will only get about 40% resolution on the A7. The cropped lenses will not cover the entire sensor of the A7, thereby, only utilizing part of the sensor.

Q: 3. Can this camera shoot without a lens on?My application would be prime focus astrophotography, and already with older Sony DSRL products I had the nuisance of finding afterwards that if the camera senses it has no lens on simply blocks all functions.

A: Yes it will. Since it's mirrorless it will also work on a Newtonian telescope with out changing the location of your mirror, given you can come up with an adapter or Frankenstein a couple adapters to reach to correct focal plane for your focuser. I have used it a few times on my 8 dobsonian successfully and easily. I have to turn off steady shot for astrophotography with a lens and through a telescope. I have not had the pleasure of using it on a tracking mount yet, so I cannot comment on steady on or off with one.

Q: 4. I'm considering to trade my 5DMKIII for the A7II due to size, weight and dynamic range. I'm just a little concerned about the durability of the A7II, is there anybody who has the camera for a while to give an opinion regarding this question? Thank you!

A: I bought my a7II about a year ago before my trip to New Zealand where I backpacked for 6 months with the camera attached to a holster on the chest strap of my backpack. New Zealand threw some of the harshest conditions at me and my a7II was a beast through it all. The display screen on the back has seen some wear and tear but the camera is still in amazing shape and has helped me get some incredible landscape shots over the last year.

Q: 5. Does A7 II camera have manual mode with auto ISO?

A: Yep, it's pre much what I use when I'm being lazy. I have a voigtlander 40mm manual lens on it and I just put it on aperture priority and auto ISO. You don't really get any significant grain/noise till you hit ISO 1600

Q: 6. Hi, its new? I mean, have no use? Thanks!

A: This is new in a box not used or refurbished. All items on our site are new unless specifically marked as used, with a condition rating. You will also notice the "Used" tab highlighted at the top of our page.

Q: 7. My Sony-Alpha a7II have a light low problem.... how can i fix it???

A: Without knowing the nature of the problem, it is almost impossible to diagnose. It could simply be your camera settings. However, I would contact Sony professional services to help diagnose and service your camera, if needed. I hope that helps.

Q: 8. panorama?

A: The A7 II like many other Sony E mount mirrorless cameras, does offer a panoramic mode.

Q: 9. will focus peaking work on the a7ii when using contax/yashica adapter ?

A: Focus peaking works by default --- works perfectly with my Nikon adapted lenses. There is no data linkage between the lens and camera body required.

Q: 10. Does it come with battery and battery charger?

A: It comes with a battery which you charge while in the camera with the USB chord they supply.

I've only had the camera for about two weeks but love it so far. I moved up from an A6300 so I am used to the similar camera set up. So far j haven't found any real down sides. Light weight, focuses well, great image quality, great raw files. Would of course recommend this camera and any cameras of the A7 range. Also the kit lens is a bargain! The difference in price for the body and the kit is so small. You would have to pay $900+ for another lens (of course great glass) but it's great bargain to have this lens.

Using it for almost a year now, for small events, concerts and studio photography. Really love the lightweight so I able to carry it all the time (in Passport Sling III and even in StreamLine 250 at the main pocket) I bought with the kit lens, for family and traveling used, and it not as bad as you read online it has decent sharpness, contrast and clarity. Like the option to use some old FD lenses and also EOS lenses with adapters. The On Sensor image stabilization is great and also super great if you attached legacy lenses that now can be used stabilized. Easy to work with your Canon and Metz speedlights (Metz also have an 'Auto' metering mode so it's even better if you're not familiar with manual mode) Like other mirrorless cameras I had, the battery life aren't impressive like in DSLR. You should get yourself at least anther battery and external charger is highly recommended! (2 of the 3rd party batteries I had, was sh!#ty! so original is the best for that and my colleague says also Wasabi) Lens adapters not letting you enjoy the benefits of the focusing system (adapter for eos lenses for example) The camera menu is complicated and busy (like all Sony's cameras)

Having moved from a DSLR to a full frame mirrorless Sony has been a very good move. The quality of the images, ease of use, EVF, all of the new technology are what help me make the move.
