When used in ideal conditions, MultiMax II is capable of producing and receiving a signal 5 miles away in Long Range mode while the older Plus III had a range of just 1600'

With 112 channels, the PocketWizard MultiMax II Transceiver enables you to trigger individual or groups of lights simultaneously or individually. This is critical for working in crowded venues or with multiple lighting set-ups.

You can program up to 4 working zones for remote control of flashes. This allows you the ability to wirelessly activate and deactivate your flashes, enabling you to remain in camera position without having to manually adjust lighting setups. This is ideal for using multiple lighting setups and managing remote cameras as needed.

With its patented Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology, the MultiMax II Transceiver may be set to transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) independently if needed.

Using 3 PocketWizard radios utilizing the Auto-Sensing technology, the transceiver mounted to the camera can instantly receive a signal from an auxiliary transceiver, and then instantly convey the transmission to a remote flash.

When in High Speed Receive mode, this transceiver is capable of triggering cameras or flashes up to 14.5 fps.

The MultiMax II Transceiver is the perfect solution for remote camera triggering. The unique two-stage TEST button on the MultiMax II works just like the shutter release button on your camera. Press it halfway and your remote camera wakes up to meter and focus. Press TEST all the way to take your photo. When released, your remote camera will return to sleep mode normally: a real battery saver.

Clearly displayed on a 1" / 2.5cm backlit LCD, all of the channels, zones, and modes can be configured using a soft-touch keypad. The design of the transceiver also incorporates a side-view LCD for easier viewing.

This item is FCC compliant and can only be used with corresponding FCC compliant models. Using

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a canon 6d and a newer s101-300 strobe. Will this work for me? The original trigger won’t work for some reason.

A: The PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack should work fine with the Canon 6d and a Neewer s101-300 strobe. Make sure you have channels set the same on the Pocketwizard attached to the flash and the one on the camera.

Q: 2. Is the MultiMax 2 compatible with the 1Dx 2?

A: Yes, the Pocket Wizard Multi-Max II is compatible with Canon DSLRs like the 1DX Mark II.

Q: 3. Will this work z6ii and sb5000

A: Yes, manually the Pocket Wizard Plus X is compatible with the Nikon Z6 II Mirrorless Cameras and the Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlights by connecting via PC cable. However, certain camera setting must be selected. For example, turn off the electronic shutter and make sure the hot shoe is activated.

Q: 4. What flashes will this work with ? J. Payne

A: The MultiMAX II radios should work with any flash that can be triggered via a sync cable. They will sync up to your camera's X-sync in manual mode. If you have a specific flash you are concerned about, you can contact PocketWizard directly to verify.

Q: 5. Is this the multimax or the Plus IIIe? The photo (and SKU) shows a Multimax but the name and description is clearly a Plus IIIe.

A: Plus IIIe Transceiver

Q: 6. The manual seems to suggest that for speedcycler mode to work, all receivers as well as the transmitter must be a multimax - that it won't work with other pocket wizards as receivers. Is that true?

A: For SpeedCycler, you can use any MultiMAX or a MiniTT1/FlexTT5/FlexTT6 with an AC3 ZoneController as the transmitter. For receiving radios, you can use any radio that has Zones, such as the Plus III, Plus IV, MultiMAX, and PowerMC2. With the ControlTL, you can have 3 Zones and with the original MultiMAX, you can have 4 separate Zones. With the MultiMAX II, you can use either 4 Zones or up to 16 remote groups as it can use Channels instead of Zones. You could also use PlusX or older Plus radios as receivers as well, for up to 10 remote groups.

Q: 7. Will the Pocket Wizard Plus X work with my Hasselblad X2D?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard PlusX will work with Hasselblad by utilizing the hot shoe or the PC port on the camera.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Olympus 900 and 600 flashes ? J. Payne

A: It is possible with a receiver on the flash.

Q: 9. Will the Pocket Wizard work with a Yongnuo YN560-III without getting two transceivers? The YN560-III has wireless transmitter capabilities but I wasn't sure if these were compatible with that or not.

A: No. The receiver is compatible only with the RF-603 or RF-602 transmitters.

Q: 10. In the past I had problems working alongside a stage with wireless audio equipment. I was using PocketWizard PlusX as well as some of the older style units. Do these units operate on different frequencies as audio equipment? Was my problem interference? Will this unit solve that problem? If so, will one unit acting as the transmitter solve this problem ( use my old receivers)? Thanks!

A: The MultiMax II Transceiver operates at radio frequency 340 to 354 MHz. It is possible that there was interference near the stage you were working on. However, changing the channel on this unit and your receivers should help alleviate any issues with interference. You can use this unit as a transmitter or a receiver as needed.

[112] Decided to use my older 7Dmk2 behind the goal for soccer games. This trigger worked great from my 1Dx3. Created a few good shots from a new perspective. Nice piece of kit. Will need to experiment some more this spring with set-up angle and focus settings.

[4 (A, B, C, D)] Attach one to the camera and the other to either studio strobe or flash unit, set the channel and go. Was a bit disappointed that my Sekonic L358 meter would not trigger the PWs though.

[112] This transceiver has functionality you cant get anywhere else, and has enabled me to create photos that would be nearly impossible to achieve without it. An indispensable professional tool well worth the price.
