Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How bright is that monitor?

A: The brightness of the ANDYCINE C173S 17.3'' Broadcast Monitor is 300 cd/m².

Q: 2. How much does the monitor and case weigh together?

A: The total weight of the FeelWorld 17.3" Live Stream HD Broadcast Director Monitor (Carry-On Case) with the case is 27lbs.

Q: 3. Hi, what's the lattency? Is there any noticeable lag? Is it suitable for pulling focus on fast moving subject

A: the manufacturer does not provide latency number for this monitor, it will be on par with the standards associated with the chosen connection ( SDI or HDMI )

Q: 4. does the zoom function appear on the hdmi output?

A: Not that we are aware of. The outputs on this monitor are loop-through outputs only and should only display what you input in to the unit originally.

Q: 5. If we will purchase this unit, can you replace the V-Mount to Gold mount? We are using Gold mount (AB) here in the Philippines

A: While we are not aware of a replacement plate for this unit, you could use the Intellytech Anton Bauer Gold Mount to V-Mount Battery Plate Converter, B&H # IN175000. This product allows you to put Gold Mount Batteries on a system with a V-Mount Plate. https://bhpho.to/2BamAQ3

Q: 6. Has anyone installed this monitor in a 17" deep rack case? I see conflicting answers. Please advise from someone who's installed

A: The Lilliput RM-1730S 17.3" Full HD 3G-SDI/HDMI Pullout Rackmount Monitor (1 RU) has the dimensions of 19 x 1.7 x 19.9", so it won't likely fit in a 17"deep rack case. If you need further assistance please reach out to the B&H product specialists at 800.606.6969, or via live chat on our website.

Q: 7. Does it support 708/608 CC?

A: The manufacturer does not explicitly define this specification and because we have no way of physically verifying this at this time, while we predict that 708 CC will be supported (probably not 608), we highly recommend that you verify directly with the manufacturer: https://bit.ly/2RTl3pa

Q: 8. How does it "support" a 4K UHD signal if the display is only 1920 X 1080?

A: Monitors without 4K support would simply not display anything if the camera outputs a 4K signal.

Q: 9. What portable rack case has enough depth to fit this monitor?

A: The Lilliput RM-1730S 17.3" Full HD 3G-SDI/HDMI Pullout Rackmount Monitor is always been installed on the buttom of a rack monitor which sit on the table .

Q: 10. Are the outputs true outs or just loops? If I have a single input using HDMI will the SDI out send the signal? Conversely, if I have a solo SDI in signal will the HDMI out send the SDI signal?

A: This unit seems to offer "loop thru" on the BNC video output, but labels its 3G-SDI out as a true "out" However, it is currently impossible for us to verify this at this time since we do not have physical access to the warehouse products.

[9 to 24 VDC] Things I Love:

True 4k at 18 inches that is sharp!
Gets bright enough to use on set (ours living strictly in post production usage)
hard carrying case is sweet, Wouldn't sit on it but definitely a nice add-on
has hdmi input to switch to being a regular monitor in addition to running SDI from an UltraStudio 4K Mini out of resolve, one of the reasons for picking this over more common reference monitors.

But now the tough part, Calibration was HARD. Keep in mind I am not a professional calibrator but am pretty tech savvy, Spent a whole day trying with DisplayCal, next day with ColourSpace LTE Rental, and simply couldn't get great results. Results would be great when testing the calibrated profile from a software side, but as soon as loading the LUT into the monitor, results would be all over. Lilliput Customer Service was very responsive at trying to help. In order to finally get it properly calibrated I had a local calibrator come in and help out. We used Calman, dialed in settings on the display, created and loaded a LUT, then had to take an extra step of changing RGB, brightness, and contrast after to get it calibrated properly. This last step is not so standard but allowed us to final calibrate to Rec709 gamma 2.2. So calibration is DEFINITELY possible, just not as simple in my experience as some monitors, Would love to see Lilliput put out more literature on how to properly calibrate using ColourSpace (one of their partners) or update their DisplayCal directions to provide more details. Again, this could be user error, but the professional Calibrator said this was definitely a tough one. But we got it and likely could've dialed in more but ended up with a Delta e average of 1.4 which is more than good enough for my purposes!

For the price EXTREMELY stoked on the feature set of this monitor and build quality. Well done Lilliput.

[29.55 lb] Best rack pullout monitor for camera engineering. The Datavideo one that costs twice the coin is terrible. It’s useless as a calibrated monitor and doesn’t have scopes built in like this one. The Lilliput also has the connections conveniently placed on the backplane, keeping wires out of the pulling mechanism.

[29.55 lb] So far, I am loving this little monitor. Sure, its not a Marshal or SmallHD, but its also less than $800, soooooo. BUT, I get a good clean 17 image for video village that my scripty and other department heads can get their last looks out of and my AC can occasionally pull focus from in a pinch. So far, I dig it.
