Q: 1. Can you access a camera/lens through the top or must you access through the rear of the bag ?

A: Unfortunately the rear panel is the only accessible section.

Q: 2. Can you access a camera body and lens through the top of the bag or must you only access from the back of the bag ?

A: Yes you can. First, a camera fit fit into the top section so that it is immediately accessible. Second, there is a divider between the top compartment and the lower camera compartment and this divider can be removed. That way when you reach in through the top, you can pull from the camera compartment.

Q: 5. Would you buy this bag again? I like the "spin around & use it like a table" option - but I'm wondering if that's too gimmicky. How does it work in practice?

A: The "spin around" feature is the most popular aspect of the bag according to our users. It does work a bit better with the 12L and 20L packs just because of size, but it still works well with the 24L pack too.

Q: 6. Would the Sony A7 series camera with a 200-600 and teleconverter fit the 12L version?

[20 x 10 x 8"] It is a really good backpack, but a little small. I prefer to use the 20L backpack.

[Yes] Purchased specifically for carrying a Canon 300mm f2.8 II attached to an R5. It's fantastic for that use case. Turn around the lens hood, rotate the body to align with the foot, and it stands perfectly in the main compartment with room for a 100mm Macro or spare body separated by one of the moveable internal dividers. Small interior pockets work great to carry a couple spare batteries and memory cards; exterior pockets work great for a water bottle or *small* monopod.

From back to shooting takes about 20 seconds. Just duck out of the shoulder straps and rotate the pack on the waist strap. Take out the camera, put the lens cap in the backpack and lift it back up onto your shoulder, then flip around the hood and start shooting.

It's really made 5+ mile hikes possible with my favorite lens. (Rain cover included too that stands up to being hit by a rogue wave...pack was completely dry though I was soaked.)

[2.35 lb] This is the smallest possible bag that fits a gripped Sony a7IV with 200-600 and lens collar. It will not fit the 200-600 with the 1.4x, so that gives an idea of the fit.
