Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these accommadate Fluance bipolar speakers 13.8 inches wide?

A: might work. these are sturdy stands.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of the base? Specifically, what is its height.

A: Using the carpet spikes, the top of the base sits 2 inches off the top of the carpet. If you're using the plastic feet on a wood or concrete floor, it might sit a 1/4 inch lower. The shape of the base is an equilateral triangle with a height of 15 inches. The length of each side of the triangle is 17.25 inches. The vertical post is 1.5 inches in diameter. The post, however, is NOT centered on the base (front to back). The space between the back of the post and the back of the base is 4 inches. The space between the front of the post and the front of the base is 9.5 inches (4 + 1.5 + 9.5 = 15). I found these dimensions important as I needed the stand to go between the back of a desk and a wall without the desk having to be too far away from the wall.

Q: 3. What is the rear overhang of the plate? That is, can a desk be flush against a wall, or must there be some space behind it?

A: When using the Auray Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stands, you will need to leave a few inches between the desk and the wall to accommodate the mounting plates. The plates can be positioned in either direction and the dimensions of the plates are 9.75 × 11.75" (24.8 × 29.8 cm). The clamp opens to 2" (5 cm) wide. I would estimate that you will need to leave approximately 4 to 6" of space between the back of the desk and the wall when the monitor stands are attached.

Q: 4. Are these big and sturdy enough for a pair of JBL LSR308 or similar sized speakers?

A: The Auray LMS-355 are capable of supporting the size and weight of the JBL LSR 308.

Q: 5. What is the diameter of the post? Could you remove the top plate to use this with 35mm/1-3/8" sockets?

A: The top plate can be removed, however On-Stage does not supply the thread size or recommend using these stands in any way other than intended.

Q: 6. Can you tell me if the legs fold up? Thanks

A: No, but they can be taken off by unscrewing them.

Q: 7. When the platforms are removed from the clamps, can they be installed on other stands like a light stand?

A: The Gator Framework Desktop Studio Monitor Clamp-On Stands platforms are not designed to be mounted on lighting stands. They are only intended to be mounted on the stand posts they come with.

Q: 8. Can the clamp be removed for through-hole mounting? I don't want my speakers on the back edge of my desk.

A: No, the clamp on the Auray Adjustable Clamp-On Desktop Studio Monitor Stand is not removable. We do not have any studio monitor stands that can be flange-mounted through a hole on a desktop.

Q: 9. How many height positions are drilled into the pole. Illustration only shows one. How high will the platform go and still lock into place?

A: There are six predrilled holes, allowing for the height of the speaker stands to be adjusted in 3-inch intervals, starting at 36-inches and going up to as high as 54 inches

Q: 10. Can I fit a pair of Mackie CR3-XBT speakers on these stands?

A: The Mackie CR3-XBT speakers are just a little bit bigger than the Kanto YU2 speakers that the Kanto SE2W stands are made to hold and they both have the same size 3" woofer. Based on these details, I think these stands would have no problem holding up the Mackie CR3-XBT speakers.

[Steel] The headline says it all. I bought these to get a pair of Tannoy 800 speakers up to ear level on an office desk. They work fine and are stable for the heavy speakers.

[Steel] They are very well built, installation took 5 minutes, and the result is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect for KRK RP5 sitting horizontally. The base is much wider than the KRK RP5 if they sit vertically, so it doesn't look great but it does the job. They can totally hold a KRK RP8.

[Steel] As pictured, I am using these fantastic stands for my center channel. Very stable even with one stand, but since I only have one speaker and a pair of stands, I figured why not use both! No issues whatsoever; build quality, adjustability, and stability is second to none. I can recommend without hesitation!

[Black] I was not expecting this item to be as solid and sturdy as they are; they are also hefty in weight. Very pleasantly surprised; I use both to support my center channel speaker above the TV. Highly recommend!

[18.7 lb] These Gator stands are very substantial, well made and easy to install securely. Their only drawback is that the top plates, when attached centered on the vertical column as prescribed, extend at least 5 inches beyond the edge of the tabletop, preventing the table to be positioned close to a wall. I made an interface piece from 1/2 thick Baltic birch plywood to go between the top plate and the attachment bracket allowing me to move the top plate further forward so the table could be moved closer to the wall.
