[5.05 lb] I purchased this backpack on sale in a deal zone offer. Man is it comfortable. I have loaded it up with a field recorder, batteries, microphones, tripod, and assorted accessories to a considerable weight and yet it floats on my back. Love the harness and adjustments; it keeps the pack tight and steady on you back. Looking forward to taking this on long hikes in the field.

[5.05 lb] Although I have not had a lot of trail experience with the pack at the time of this review, what field time I have had with it has lead me to believe its an exceptional bag. Very well designed and very well put together. The materials are top notch. The design is very thoughtful. Its definitely rugged and has the ability to be customized for various torso lengths. It is a photo backpack so its not the most easily accessible bag while you are wearing it. If you have set up the internal units correctly the camera can be accessed from either side without taking the pack off. Seams quite weather resistant. Each internal unit comes with a zippable bagto provide another layer of dust and water resistance.

[5.05 lb] I purchased the base package when on same (ones without camera case insert). I have other light camera bag that fits perfectly inisde this Shimoda bag. It's large enough to carry my backpacking tent, small air bed (Klymit insulated VLux), sleeping bag and other camping gears, along with one DSLR (D810) and one mirrorless (G9).
This is awsome bag for hiking and traveling.

[5.05 lb] If you are a landscape photographer and like to carry a healthy amount of equipment, this is your bag. The bag is lightweight. It holds a large amount of equipment and the shoulder straps are the most comfortable I've used (I've had Think Tank and f-stop bags, which are also quite good, but none is as comfortable as this one. Shimoda also has an excellent system of matching accessories. When traveling by air I put all my essential, photo equipment in the Shimoda roller, collapse the Explore 60 so it fits in my check bag and traipsing through airports is quite easy. The 60 will also leave you with plenty of extra room for jacket, food, and other photo accessories that don't need to be in the main compartment. It's also very sturdy. I've had mine since these were first shipped and it remains in great shape and is the first bag I go to for landscape photography that will involve some hiking.

[24 x 13 x 9.75"] THis is the second Shimoda I have - I also have the older 40L. My Sony 200-600 barely fit into the 40L, but there's room to spare in this 60L. The crazy thing is, I can 't find a Shimoda insert that holds the tele with camera attached. I ended up getting a f-stop XL insert to use in this pack.

[5.05 lb] Love the pack. Sever exterior entrances for camera and gear. sits right on the back and holds a lot of gear. see internal insert for evaluation on interior.

[Yes] One big thing that sets the Shimoda rain cover apart from competition it's the size.

The rain cover size is designed to be larger to accommodate accessories (tripod, water bottle etc)

This makes it really easy to put it on and off. You don't have to struggle with the perfect fit.

Works great on my Shimoda Action X 50

[24 x 13 x 9.75"] I purchased a Shimoda 40L bag a couple months after they were first introduced. The bag has been very good to me, however, one flaw was the waist straps were too short. I contacted Shimoda's designers and they said it was by design; they designed their bags with thinner/adventurous people in mind. After asking if they sold waist strap extenders I was told they were working on them but didn't expect to sell them anytime soon. Well, a year and 7 months later they are finally available.

The Strap extender does it's job and is made of the same materials as the bag (same color too). The price is perfect for what this is. Definitely recommended for both men and women with a larger waist line. Bummer it took so long to sell something this simple but glad I have it now.
