Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this amp work with a JBL 25t?

A: Yes it should power them just fine.

Q: 2. Can I use this cable on Pix-e7 for power cable? Can't find any 4 pin Hirose connector in the back of the e7 monitor

A: No, this is the power cable for the Pix 220/240 modlels only. You need a locking DC Coaxial power cable barrel connector to 4-pix XLR if yiu need to use the large battery packs. A better solution is to use the newer smaller D-Tap batteries and use the Pix accessory, Video Devices Coaxial DC Plug to D-Tap Power Cable , listed under Pix E power accessories. Yiu could also take the Pix connector end off your AC power brick, and have a 4-pin XLR connected to it, and the female 4-pin XLR connected to the brick side (where you cut the coaxial connector off), so yiu can still use the AC power supply. If yiu are not familiar with how power cables are wired on XLRs, get a A/V repair service to do this for you. The 4-pin power XLR connectors only use two pins, (not all four at the same time) one set is for 6-VDC connections and the other two are for 12-14 DC connections. You need to meter the connector on your battery pack to see which two and the correct polarity (which pin is + and which is ground/negative connectors. A warning, if you get this wrong, and you will fry you PixE power board in the monitor.

Q: 3. How many minutes work after charging?

A: I use it for my Sound Devices 633 along with another off brand battery as back ups when my np1 that powers everything goes down and I don't have time to change to a fresh. Both xl series batts last about 4-5 hours just powering the 633 and a boom for phantom power, I don't have them set up to power the receivers or hops. Again that's what I use them for, your mileage may vary if you are using for another purpose.

Q: 4. Does it work with an Echo vis Bluetooth?

A: The Vanco PulseAudio PA230WP is not compatible with an Amazon Echo. It is made to sync via bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet to play that media through an amplifier that the Vanco PulseAudio PA230WP would be wired to.

Q: 5. Does it come with a power supply? If yes, do you have a picture?

A: Yes it comes with a power supply. It listed in the 'In The Box' section of the product page on your far right-hand side of the Overview Tab. We do not have a picture of it.

Q: 6. What have people found is an average charge time using the Sound Devices L-series Battery Charger?

A: In general, charging times vary greatly for it depends on the amount of discharge, the charger and things like ambient temperature. With a fully discharged battery you should minimally consider 1-2 hours, maybe 3-4. In time you will get a feel of how long. Keep in mind generally when a battery takes longer to charge it will work longer. Generally batteries that charge from a fully depleted state in a few minutes last only a few minutes. That is because they are at end of life since the chemicals inside are exhausted and thus the battery will accept only a small charge.

Q: 7. What do I check if there is no sound when I pair with bluetooth to my phone?

A: You will first need to verify that your indeed paired correctly. Go to your devices setting, and then Bluetooth, and make sure that you are connected to JBL VMA160. Then, make sure your device's volume is up, start at about 50%. Next, go to the VMA and make sure that input channel "music" is turned up, and that the Master volume (all the way to the right) is also turn up. Start all the way down and slowly increase the Master volume, as not to push too much signal. If you continue to experience issues connecting, please give us a call at 800-606-6969 and a Pro Audio Product Specialist will be happy to assist.

Q: 8. How many speakers can this support? I have 5 JBL 25t speakers and want to make sure it can support all 5 or if I need to look at a different model.

A: Yes, depending on how you wire the system.

Q: 9. if two teachers are in a classroom can they each use a separate microphone with the same unit?

A: The Cetacea Sound ASTRO-CLD001-SFC Astronaut CL Single-Speaker System with Orbiter Wireless Pendant Microphone BH #CEACLD001SFC has a 3-channel mixer with 3.5mm inputs. Each input supports stereo or mono audio signals. This versatility makes it easy to connect a projector, microphone, DVD player, CD player, MP3 player, etc to the speaker. Purchase this system: Two Cetacea Sound Orbiter Pendant microphones may be used in the same space if desired: Cetacea Sound Astronaut CL and Orbiter Commander Duo 40W Voice Amplification System with Two Wireless Microphones and 12' Desktop Power B&H # CEASCLD1OD2D: https://bhpho.to/3G7p1Sy

Q: 10. how do i hook it up?

A: It depends on application. What purpose does the amp serve (i.e. background music with paging etc.). Let me know how you plan to use it and I can probably poit you in the right direction.Andy

[3.5 in] This small amp packs more tone and clarity than you would think possible. Bob Sima uses these with acoustic guitars and headset mics and they sound great. I used mine today for a small acoustic gig. GREAT for small rooms where you just need a little boost because playing unamplified just doesn't quite cut it. The ONLY thing I wish they had done differently would have been to have a mid control on the vocal channel. Instrument channel has low, mid, and high. Vocal channel just has low and high. I agree with some other reviews that I've seen that the LoudBox Mini sounds better than some of the larger models. They got something right with this one.

[3.5 in] I have had an older Cetacea wireless microphone system for over 10 years and the transmitter unit finally was failing. Bought this new system and it is a joy to use. The pendant microphone is so light that it is not noticed at all and it must have very good electronics as the sound levels do not change while moving around. The sound quality through my old Cetacea speaker is also much better. Seems the frequency response and overall sound quality is greater. Worth the price! Cetacea systems are the only one for me. I use the system in School Cafeteria for presentations and the sound reaches the back evenly and clearly. These are big rooms that suck up sound as they are not designed for it. Very happy with it.

[Integrated] I bought the HX-3 this week and after using it for a couple of days hooked up with my Sony MZ-M200 Hi-MD recorder, I can say it is wonderful. I am using Pioneer SE-MJ71 headphones with them. I love how my uncompressed PCM recordings of my cds' sound. I prefer it to my portable cd player. This amp is built like a tank. One of the main reasons I bought it. Also I bought it to support small companies like Sound Devices that create superb equipment. I am not an audio professional, just a lover, but bought these to carry on my daily commute. I do not own an iPod. To me sound is very important. This amp does what I want. It doesn't change the original sound, it just amplifies it. The bass sound better and so does the treble. These things are powerful, I usually put the volume level to the second or third marker, or about 8 or 9 o'clock. There is no need for more unless I want to permanently damaging my ears, which will end my musical enjoyment. So be careful. I love the peak light warning, though if I reach that I will blow my ear drums. It is a good size for a portable amp. If it was any smaller, how can there be any room inside for the parts to breathe. I was going to wait till after new years to buy it, but couldn't wait. I tested it in store and waited a week till I finally ordered. The sound was that good that I needed it NOW. There are headphone amps that are better (there always are), but are you willing to pay over a $1,000 and have it be not portable? I am happy and content with the Sound Device HX-3. And so will you whether a professional, or just a music lover. Take care and enjoy.

[Horn] Hey folks! I Paired this Bogen C60 amp up with a PM660U microphone and two TOA SC-615T paging Horns and this small little system screamed. Level was set at about 5.5 and was used outside for an event. Customer was impressed and I was as well. I would highly recommend this item! [ St Thomas, Pa ] FCL

[Yes] I work in audio post-production at a facility in NYC, and I just recently purchased a pair of AKG open headphones for doing pre-mix work outside of my studio. Of course with them being 60-something ohms of resistance, I knew I was going to need an amp to keep them happy, and to keep me happy. Almost all of our recording equipment for field recording is from sound devices; I love this company. The build, quality, and durability of their equipment is always at the top of the line. Same thing goes for this headphone amp. I never plan to use this thing outdoors, but I actually only power it with batteries because the power supply is an additional purchase. (However they do come with the DC terminal into their box if you want to do a little work yourself and wire up a DC converter) Very linear response, virtually no noise floor unless I jack the level up above 80% (which I never need to do anyway), and the best part is it really lets my headphones shine. If you require headphones and plan to do serious mix work PLEASE do not expect to get good results coming straight out of the laptop's 1/8 output; not only will it not be loud enough in most cases, but there is just not enough power to allow a high resistance pair of headphones to be at their best.

[24.69 oz] A small, light, quiet, transparent amplifier with 4 channels (2 stereo pair for me) to solve a problem in my home studio. I drive a pair of Yamaha NS-10M and a pair of UREI 809s (yeah, old school) and use the volume controls to switch between them when monitoring my work. Plenty of power for my control room (remember, it's a home installation).
A little pricey but I trust QSC and they delivered. They worked as advertised, the documentation was great, no problems.
I did consider ditching the speakers and getting a pair of powered monitors, but I am used to listening to these and they haven't let me down yet.

[Yes] I use an exact duplicate of this unit (since B&H is prohibited to ship it to the Philippines) which I purchased in Hong Kong. In fairness to B&H, I will not mention the brand nor the purchase price. This unit is superb and I have tried more expensive headphone amps. Combined with the Apple IPOD Dock (with remote), you can kiss your full-size system and speakers good-bye. With the volume turned only to less than 1/4, you can drive high Ohm units such as the Senheisser HD800 unit or similar reference grade units, with ease. This amplifier is built like a tank and was designed to take abuse and rough handling because of the investment-cast metal housing and moreover, it will give you hours of distortion-free qualitative listening. It can take a plug-in 5 to 15 volt adapter or two AA size batteries, but I do recommend getting the lithium types to surpass the specified 8 hours of listening. If you buy one you will not regret it. It will surely last you for years!
