The 6" x 213.3' PermaJetUSA DryLab Gloss 240gsm Paper Roll 6x213.3from PermaJetUSA DryLab Gloss 240gsm Paper Roll 6x213.3is a high gloss media paper with a photographic feel and finish. This is an instant dry resin-coated paper finished with a UV-protected microporous supercoat for a high degree of water and fade resistance. An exceptionally low color error with Ultrachrome inks and a low metamerism index makes this product suitable for both color and monochrome images.

Q: 4. Is this new paper the replacement of the now discontinued smooth super high gloss ? Does it have same characteristics or is it entirely new ?

A: Glossy inkjet is a type of paper that shines by nature. When light falls on such paper it is either reflected parallelly or at an angle. With metallic paper a sheet of mylar is kept between the printing paper and the emulsion. So there's no real comparison. Metallic is far superior for a 3D look. That being said Gloss doesn't change the image effect as does metallic and the colors can be a bit more accurate.

A: Its designed for a photo printer but I dont see why not

A: This has a 3 inch core.

A: You will need to make a customer profile. There are services where you can print out patches on your printer without using any profile and send the sheets to someone to make an ICC profile for you. I have the X-Rite iPro2 and made a profile to use this with my Epson printer.

Q: 8. We just bought a Canon iX6520 printer.It will auto-duplex sheets of paper.It appears to handle paper of this size (SG-201).Can we print on both sides of this paper?Or is the semi-gloss finish on one side only?If not this paper, can you recommend another paper that is at least tabloid-extra size (12x18) that will provide photo or near-photo quality, and that can be duplexed?We want to create books from these printed pages, so need printing on both sides.Thank you,Josh Litwin

A: The SG-201 Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss 13 x 19 is a single-sided paper, so you can only print on one side. We do carry this double-sided semi-gloss paper from Inkpress Media Duo Semi Gloss (2-Sided, 180gsm) - 13x19 (Super-B) - 50 Sheets (INSG1319509M).

Q: 9. Is this paper on an acid free base or plastic? What if any are it's archival properties?

A: Semi-gloss paper is technically archival when printed using pigmented inks and stored in a temperature stable environment out of direct sunlight, but if you are looking to maximize your archiveability you would choose a fine art paper (if your printer can handle the extra thickness), that would be called natural. Natural fine art paper usually means NO OBAs (Optical Brightening Agents) have been added, so that the image will darken very slowly over a very long time. OBA papers turn bluish and darken after 15 years all at once; pigment ink doesn't save them.

Q: 10. Works with Aqueous ink?

A: Yes! Will work with water based inks which include pigment & dye based inks. P.S. Pigment & Dye based inks are Aqueous which are water based inks.

[5.65 lb] I purchased this to print double-sided fine art tri-fold pamphlets. I tried some koala brand gloss double sided 13 x 19 paper and it was terrible and for only $10 more this oyster paper was a world better! I highly recommend it. It folded very nicely and I was able to get very color accurate prints. 5

[Glossy] The Hahnemühle profile P-800 I downloaded seemed very good. I’ll make my own profile and see if it makes any notable difference—I doubt that there will be one. The texture of the gloss surface could be characterized as “robust”—more textured than Photo Rag Baryta, for example, and presenting a good option among high quality papers. I’ll also note that it fed perfectly in the Epson printer. 5
