The Tiffen 86mm UV Haze Filteris a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

A: Yes. As the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Lens has 112mm front filter threads, yes, the B+W UV-Haze #010 MRC MASTER Filter (112mm) would be compatible for use on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Lens.

[86 mm] Good news: this filter truly puts the kibosh on UV light, No other UV or haze filter comes close, because they are not true 2A filters. If your camera has a purple-fringing problem, this makes the purple fringes magically go away. It can also change the color of the sky making it more greenish (which is bad but can be fixed in Lightroom) and warm up shadows (which is good).Bad news: it's uncoated. In most outdoor uses you won't notice any problems caused by this, but I have observed photos where it causes blooming where there is a very bright area next to a very dark area, plus you should never use this indoors because it causes bad ghosting when there are bright spots (like lights) in the photo.I rate it 5 stars, because for the price and what it is (an uncoated filter) it's really excellent. But if B+W made a 2A filter with MRC coating, I'd be the first to buy the more expensive 2A filter.

[6 x 5.6 x 1.2"] I like using this filter for taking photos of objects below the surface of the water, such as fish. Yet I can always leave it on the camera lens as a protection in case I bang the camera against something or drop it. Two years ago I made the mistake of putting my camera in with checked baggage on a domestic flight in Viet Nam. When I checked equipment after landing, I saw the lens was cracked, but the camera and lens were saved. I wouldn't use my Haze 2A just as protection, but if I am using the camera in very hazy conditions, I can leave the Haze 2A on the lens for general use.

[0.15 lb] Do a lot of areial photography, this filter cleared up almost all of the haze in the pictures. We normally fly at about 2500 ft. What a difference. Would recommend this to anybody doing distance photography.

[0.15 lb] I have been looking for a filter to take the haze out of the photos I've been taking from our new house. As we live across a river from our nearest large city which by chance has a mountain for a back drop we inherently get a large amount of haze. Especially on fine days, this filter takes care of that problem perfectly. I now do not get the white-grey saltwater haze that comes of the river or the blue haze that chokes out the mountain, it's brilliant!
