The Axis P3904-R Mk II 720p Outdoor Network Dome Camerafrom Axis Communications is specifically designed for mobile video surveillance onboard vehicles and rolling stock like buses, trains, subway cars, and emergency vehicles. With a 1/2.9" progressive scan RGB CMOS sensor, this camera provides HDTV 720p resolution with WDR and Lightfinder to ensure high image quality in mixed and low-light conditions. The 3.6mm fixed lens features an 87° horizontal field of view and a 47° vertical field of view. Integrated PoE technology via the RJ45 port simplifies connectivity by enabling the transfer of power and data via one cable. An onboard microSD/SDHC/SDXC card slot is available for edge storage. microSD cards are available for purchase separately.

Q: 1. I live at the end of a cul-de-sac and look directly down the street. Will this camera be able to read a license plate at about 120 feet, also will the night vision be sufficient at this distance. Does camera track people? Only one review on this camera makes it very hard to know exactly what this camera is capable of. Any additional information would be appreciated

A: It will depend on the speed of the vehicle. Very slow moving vehicles should capture the plate. However, please keep in mind that you will need to have the image zoomed in so that the license plate takes up the entire image.

Q: 2. This camera needs a network? Or it “creates” its own?

A: In order to view this camera’s video feed through the Hik-Connect mobile app or through a PC, you need to connect it to a network router. It cannot “create” its own network.

Q: 3. I don't see the LED's, are they in the black ring above the dome? If so, how well do they work?

[NAS] We are a developer of command and control software and often buy various brands of IP cameras to test with our software suite. This camera was an addition late last year and we've actually deployed it on our property (mostly for testing). We cannot say enough about Axis products... this camera works as advertised and was easily integrated into our software. It is ONVIF compliant and provides crystal clear video. We are located in Florida and rarely use the defogging feature, but we would love to have self cleaning optics (a feature starting to appear on high end IP cameras) since the camera is located nearly 30 feet in the air making it difficult to clean... but that is the only thing we had in the wish it had it column. Overall a highly versatile and functional PTZ IP camera... we highly recommend this one! 5

[IK08] I bought two of these to replace some aging dome cameras I have outside my home. I must say the picture is excellent. At night I have driveway lights that come on automatically so the camera never uses its night vision, but the picture is phenomenal with WDR compared to the old cameras they replaced. Very happy. 5
