The Roland RD-88 Digital Stage Piano | Compact & Portablefrom Roland RD-88 Digital Stage Piano | Compact & Portableis an 88-key instrument with built-in speakers, effects, and reverb that delivers the acclaimed RD sound in a playable, lightweight, and accessible keyboard. It can be used to deliver acoustic and electric piano sounds in several environments such as on the stage, in rehearsals, and in the recording studio.

The sound generator section features ZEN-Core, SuperNATURAL piano, and SuperNATURAL electric piano sounds, with four-hundred scenes and over three-thousand tones. Zone multi-effects offer three systems, and ninety types of scene multi-effects. Other features include: eight types of chorus/delays, six types of reverb, a master compressor and master EQ. There are other functions on the RD-88 such as: favorite, rhythm pattern, song player, MIDI master keyboard, and DAW control.

Furthermore, this keyboard is built with a 1/4" stereo phone headphone jack, a 1/4" mic input jack, and a stereo 1/8" line input jack. Other connections includes a MIDI out jack, a USB memory port, a USB computer port that supports USB MIDI/audio. Finally, the RD-88's clean and compact design fits easily into your lifestyle. An AC adapter, a pedal switch, and a power cord are also included.

A: Yes, the Yamaha P-45 does have a transpose feature. The keyboard can transpose six half steps down and six half steps up. Great feature and when you transpose the keyboard sounds don't change - it's only a pitch adjustment.

[GM] I can only think of one word to describe my all experience with the Roland RD-2000: Delicious. Maybe also, I only have a single warning for anyone interested in buying that wonderful digital stage piano: Do not believe and do not trust any comparison video and even supposed promotion of the RD-2000 on YouTube, with sound intentionally or not, horribly modified by equalizers or altered by poor quality amplifiers to disqualify the RD-2000 against the competition. Nothing to do with the reality, beauty, sophisticated, powerful and wonderful sounding of the RD-2000's sound engine both on stage and in the studio. I have owned and spent tens of thousands of dollars each year on the latest of all the most expensive premium range digital pianos from the brands Yamaha, Nord, Kawai, Kurzweil, Dexibell, Korg and lastly the RD-2000 which was my latest and cheapest purchase and the best sounding by far, comparing it to all my previous models. Better believe an end user like me, without any need to benefit a particular brand cheating, and who is only interested in the truth with the supporting facts in the hands. 5

[Yes] The keyboard is really fun to play and once you select the right velocity curve for your style of playing you can get a good dynamic range. The keybed is semi-weighted meaning is not weighted BUT it feels good and coming from a weighted keyboard you can get used and do good parts for piano too, ep and organs are fast with this keybed. Sounds are very good especially 60' 70' and 80'. I am using a lot the elec bass because is really convincing and funny to play. Tonewheel organ is really cool, having physical drawbars, and with a volume pedal you can mimic the organ even better Overall this keyboard is really fun and it makes everything easy to play, customize and balance. 5

[Black] This is not a technical review - you can read technical reviews by just using YouTube. I purchased this because I wanted a keyboard that was more focused on piano sound reproduction than synthesizer options. I am not disappointed. There are enough variations with the available piano sounds to keep any person happy. In addition, there are options to layer different instruments (pads, strings, electric piano, etc.). The capabilities of this keyboard are more than I need at this time, but I am very pleased with the sound reproduction and options available. I played keyboard for my church and wish I could bring this on stage with me, but I currently play on the Yamaha MX88 at church. Much more capabilities than I will probably ever use, but if you are looking for a top-notch performer for a stage piano, this doesn't disappoint. I purchased it because it finally went on sale. It is a professional level stage piano and is right up there with the Yamaha YC-88 and Nord series. 5
