The ASUS ProArt Display is built with Mini LED backlighting consisting of 1152 zones of local dimming, which help to improve color and contrast. Moreover, ASUS Off-Axis Contrast Optimization (OCO) technology reduces halo effects from wide viewing angles.

This monitor supports multiple HDR formats such as Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and HLG. ASUS has different presets as well as PQ curves, so users can adjust them as needed to fit their current task.

The PA32UCX-PK support 99% DCI-P3, 99.5% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709, and 89% Rec.2020 color spaces for video editing and post-production. It also has a color accuracy delta-E rating of less than 1. An X-rite i1 Display Pro Calibrator is included for re-calibration and tuning.

Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture viewing modes can assist users with multitasking. Users can also select which audio source to play from.

[-5 to 23°] This is an outstanding monitor for HDR photography and video. It offers excellent 1600 nits peak brightness (I'm getting 1800 nits in my testing), great local dimming (actually shows less haloing than the Pro Display XDR in deep shadow detail), and an integrated colorimeter with automated calibration. The hardware calibration ASUS offers on ProArt monitors like this is a huge advantage, as standard ICC profiles don't currently support HDR. This display works great on both PC and MacOS.

It is most comparable to the Pro Display XDR (if you have MacOS to use it). It holds up very well against that monitor at half the price, with each having some advantages over the other. The ASUS has less blooming in deep shadow and pass-through charging / USB. The Pro Display XDR excels with reference modes, control of SDR brightness in HDR mode (due to limitations of MacOS 14 with any 3rd-party HDR monitor), and even better display uniformity.

I can confirm that the speakers here are nothing to get excited about, but I always prefer separate speakers (and the Pro Display XDR doesn't have any speakers).

[Yes, Kensington] This is a great monitor for photo editing and a bargain compared to comparable monitors. The colors are great, it's a perfect size, and it's well designed. The joy stick to move around the monitor menus is particularly clever. I only have 2 minor complaints. First, the quick setup guide that comes with the monitor is absolutely worthless. Download the manual from the ASUS website before you unpack the box. Second, while the i1 Display Pro profiler is excellent it has only generic instructions on its use. With ASUS written all over the box I expected a detailed description on how to use it with this ASUS monitor. However, if you've ever used a similar device it's not hard to figure out. Overall I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
