[Aluminum] I've used this kit for a few months now with no issues. I use a small mirrorless camera (Fuji X Pro2) to scan and the riser is more than adequate. I like the camera attachment method so I can actually tighten the camera down tight so it won't swivel or rotate on the screw. The Light Source 35 was super bright and even. I've recently upgraded only because I wanted to scan 120 film too. 5
