The Tiffen 34mm UV Filter for Camera Lensis a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

[UV] My application was to convert an Xtreme Bright Pro Series X55 headlamp to night use (amateur astronomy). It was a tight fit but there was enough give in the rubber cylinder to get it deployed over the existing clear lens. Waiting for warmer weather before I use it for intended application. 5

[UV] I was primarily interested in this filter to watch owls and other nocturnal animals. Like it! Note that the distance at which you can see an object will be reduced by a factor of 10, compared to white light. This is about 40 m at high power - still enough to spot an animal without blinding it. 5
