The Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone Kit with Broadcast Armis a two-section broadcast arm with internal springs . This versatile and sturdy broadcast arm is great for studio as well as home use. It's ideal for broadcast, voiceover, and podcasts.

The BAI-2N broadcast arm is designed with internal springs that provide a clean and sleek look. The internal balance springs are precision engineered to support and hold in place microphones of up to 5 lb / 2.27kg. The design also minimizes handling noise when re-positioning the arm. The broadcast arm features a standard 5/8"-27 microphone stud mount that is compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips. The angle of the microphone stud mount can be adjusted and secured with the locking knob, and the angle is maintained when re-positioning the arm. This eliminates the need to readjust it every time the arm is moved. With an extension of up to 40 inches, and the ability to rotate the arm 360°, the BAI-2N allows for precise microphone placement.

The BAI-2N also features a heavy-duty combo mount that consists of a sturdy C-clamp and a heavy-metal desktop mount. The C-clamp is capable of fastening onto desktops up to 2.3" thick. The C-clamp's slim design minimizes the clearance needed to mount it between a desk and wall. The desktop mount detaches from the C-clamp and provides the option of permanent installation to a desktop with the mounting screws (included). A 14" riser is included for adding height to the broadcast arm in order to extend over computer or studio monitors.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. why is the silver version cheaper than the black one?

A: B&H priced it that way, but silver and black are the same microphones just a different color. Black is more popular thats why price is a little higher. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. Is there international warranty for the MV7?

A: Yes, the Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone has a two-year limited warranty from Shure.

Q: 3. Will the USB and XLR work simultaneously? For example, is it possible to use the USB and headphones for an online interview, while also recording a WAV via XLR?

A: Yes, the Shure MV7 does allow you to record audio from the USB and XLR outputs at the same time.

Q: 4. I need to have a 3.5 mm connection (to a camera). What cable/adapter do I need?

A: While it is possible to connect this mic to the 3.5mm input on a camera with this cable, BH #KOXRSM06B, the preamp of the camera would not do a great job of amplifying the signal and could introduction unwanted noise into the recording. We would recommend using a mixer/ recorder in between the mic and camera to give you a stronger mic preamp for a cleaner signal into the camera. Here's a recommendation, BH# TADR60DMKIIK.

Q: 5. is the usb cord that comes with the mic long enough for the boom arm that comes with the kit?

A: The USB cable that is included with the microphone is 10 feet long.

Q: 6. Can I use my beats headphones with this mic?

A: The Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone can be used with any wired headphones that have a 3.5mm connector. It cannot connect to wireless headphones.

Q: 7. Can you use the Blue arm with this mic?

A: Yes. There is a Blue arm shown as an accessory for this mic: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1593379-REG/shure_mv7_k_mv7_mic.html/accessories

Q: 8. why is the silver one cheaper than the black?

A: Sometimes items that are available in different color finishes can be priced differently. It's possible that we may have been able to get a better deal from Shure for a large quantity of the MV7 mics in the silver finish which would be why there is a lower sale price for the silver finish compared to the sale price for the black finish. The silver and black models are identical other than the color of the finish.

Q: 9. How does this mic compare to something like the Blue Yeti Pro?

A: There is no comparison, the Yeti Pro has 3 capsules and can be used for Mono or Stereo applications, the MV7 is a podcast microphone , with a single cardioid voice coil, and the output is Mono only.

Q: 10. What is the thread size on the mount connection? Will it fit with Auray MS-5230T Tripod Microphone Stand?

A: The Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone has a yoke mount with a 5/8" thread, which is the same thread size as the Auray MS-5230T Tripod Microphone Stand, so they are directly compatible for use together.

[5.9 lb] I've been working with the Shure SM7b for years upon years for voiceover work, podcasts, and the occasional livestream. It sounds great (as we all know), but it requires at least 60db of clean gain from a really solid preamp, which is a pain when doing a mobile recording. Well, here comes a cheaper, better-performing alternative from Shure. The MV7! While not as wonderful-sounding as the SM7b, it still sounds amazing, it's not nearly as gain-hungry, and it even has a USB interface built-in for when you need to record something quickly or even if you need a really good mic for a livestream or Zoom meeting. Additionally, this kit comes with a really nice, lightweight Manfrotto collapsible stand, which is fantastic for a really light mobile kit. It doesn't offer the sound isolation from the tabletop that another mount might, but it's great for a portable recording kit and performs admirably. I can't say enough about this mic. It's not a replacement for the SM7b, but it's a solid cheaper alternative for other usecases. While I'll stick with the SM7b for my studio work, I now have 4 MV7's in a mobile kit for when portability supersedes sound by a little bit.

[5.9 lb] This mic is awesome. So much better than my monitor's built-in mic. Works great with a Rode PSA1+ arm.
