The K&F Concept X324C4 Carbon Fiber Tripodfrom K&F Concept X324C4 Carbon Fiber Tripodcan be used with or without the center column, and the center column can be removed and used as a short, handheld monopod with the included ball head. With the center column installed, the tripod reaches a maximum height of 70". If you remove it, the maximum height is 54" but you'll have a sturdier setup. When it's removed, a drop-in adapter is removed from it and used to support the ball head directly on the tripod. With the center column removed, you can also spread the tripod legs to near flat for ground-level shooting. Another feature is inverted shooting. This is done with the center column installed and the tripod legs inverted. The camera will hang upside-down, low to the ground. The maximum weight capacity in all modes is 44 lb. The folded length is 22".

The tripod legs feature non-slip rubber feet, which are removable to reveal spiked feet for use on soft ground. Two 3/8"-16 accessory threads are provided right above the legs for attaching monitors and other add-ons via articulating arms or other supports. A hook at the bottom of the center column allows you to attach sandbags or other weights. There are twist leg locks along the 4-section legs, the largest of which is 32mm in diameter. Flip locks at the top of the legs let you release the legs to adjust them into different angle positions. The ball head has a 35mm ball diameter and comes with a quick release plate with a 1/4"-20 screw. It also has a bubble level for balancing your shots. The tripod legs and center column are made of 10-layer carbon fiber.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I was a little skeptical at first. I wanted to keep the size and weight to a minimum without giving up quality and this tripod has proven to be an effective tool in the field after testing. It allows for a trinity lens system, one Sony camera, tripod, plus accessories in a small backpack (see photo), all coming in under 12 lb. (a little over 5 kilos). The tripod can be extended to nearly 60, but I use that level only to stabilize my 70-180 lens. The three foot level and below gives you maximum self-stability, which works fine for me. I can put a 10 lb. ballast bag under with 3-5 pounds of camera on top with confidence. Kudos to K&F, I think the overall design was pretty well thought out. Thanks B&H!
