It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and positions the acoustic guitar mount and pickup on the center hole of this instrument. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a 4-pin Hirose connector for direct connection to Sony WRT-28, WRT-820A, WRT-860A, and WRT-8B wireless bodypack transmitters.

The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.
