The black Countryman I2 Acoustic Guitar Mic Kit TA4F Blackfrom Countryman I2 Acoustic Guitar Mic Kit TA4F Blackis a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and positions the acoustic guitar mount and pickup on the center hole of this instrument. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a TA4F connector for direct connection to Vega BP2020, PRO-2, ST2020, T23, T25, T37, and T93 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The hypercardioid polar pattern has a narrower pickup pattern in its front than the cardioid polar pattern. It offers better rejection of ambient noise and the working distance is about twice that of the omni polar pattern. The hypercardioid has a small "pickup lobe" directly behind the microphone and exhibits maximum rejection areas behind and to the sides (about 60 degrees away from the rear of the microphone on either side) of the mic. The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi! I would like to connect a XLR 48v phantom power mic to my Gh5S for better sound. Would this item work for that???

A: Yes, this is designed for exactly that use.

Q: 2. How do you attach a B6 mic to this clip? I have not seen any pictures of how to do this.

A: The cable goes into the little grabber on the top of the clip. This one is for the B3 though. The version for the B6 is here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/295893-REG/Countryman_E6CLIPB1_E6_B6_Replacement.html

Q: 3. Can this be used with a Blue Yeti microphone?

A: The Blue Yeti is not stand mountable unless using the Blue Radius shockmount.

Q: 4. I take it if there is a switch for record/playback this device probably can’t do playback while recording? I do track recording and normally play previous tracks through headphones while recording and I wondered if this one can do that.

A: You must download a recording application supporting real-time input/output pass-through. Then you are able to monitor the audio during recording.

Q: 5. What's the difference between the lightning vs the 3.5mm ?

A: The SmartRig+ with TRRS can be used with smartphones and cameras with 3.5mm inputs, well the lightning version: SmartRig+Di is made for iPhones and iPads with a Lightning input.

Q: 6. Can this be mounted to a spring boom arm?

A: The reflection filter in this kit would be too heavy to put on a studio arm with a microphone. I would suggest the Auray RF-PBO-16 Premium Reflection Filter (Plastic/Black), BH #AURFPBO16. This moel is much ;lighter, at 3.5 lbs., and made of rugged ABS plastic, with High-Density Open-Cell Acoustic Foam to absorb unwanted ambient room sound.

Q: 7. Can this be used with the Cisco Webex Meetings app on iOS? Will it output and input audio at the same time?

A: According to Saramonic's marketing team, the SmartRig+ is not recognized by the Cisco Webex Meetings app on iOS. The iPhone does recognize it when used to connect your external microphone, but once the Webex app is loaded, it is no longer recognized. While the SmartRig+ is not compatible with the Webex app, it does work with Zoom.

Q: 8. Is the 1/4" input TRS for long cable run from the mixer?

A: No, the 1/4" input is TS for instruments. You can go out from a mixer 1/4" into a direct box than XLR into the SmartRig+Di for best results, or even TRS to XLR cables and then mind the input gain if you do not have a direct box.

Q: 9. Hello is really possible to record stereo? I have tested SmartRig+ with 3,5 connector and adapter 3,5 to lightning. It is possible to record only mono mixed from two channels with this setup. Thanks for reply.

A: Yes, the SmartRig+ allows you to toggle between mono and stereo modes using a switch that is located between the two XLR-1/4" combo input jacks. The switch is labeled with "M" and "S" to indicate mono and stereo operation.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Cisco Webex Meetings app on iOS?

A: According to Saramonic's marketing team, the SmartRig+ is not recognized by the Cisco Webex Meetings app on iOS. The iPhone does recognize the SmartRig+ when it is used to connect your external microphone, but once the Webex app is loaded, it is no longer recognized. Although the SmartRig+ is not compatible with the Webex app, it does work with Zoom.
