The Kirk KLP-450 Quick Release Lens Plate Nikon 180-400mmfrom Kirk KLP-450 Quick Release Lens Plate Nikon 180-400mmis Arca-type compatible with a double-dovetail design. The 6061-T6 aluminum-constructed plate has a black anodized surface and the anti-twist lip is silver anodized, which makes them tough against scratches and scuffs. The lip can be mounted with a 90 or 30° angle, for a snug fit against the tripod collar on the lens, and this feature helps to keep a tighter fit, which prevents the lens foot from pivoting while mounted to the plate. The 1/4"-20 mounting screw is used to attach the plate to lens's tripod foot, and the three additional 1/4"-20 mounting sockets are for optional mounting positions on a tripod. The two integrated safety stops prevent the plate from sliding out if a quick release assembly is accidentally opened, and the industry-standard QD socket allows you to carry the lens with a shoulder or sling strap.

[Aluminum] It fits perfect and typical high quality you would expect from Kirk. I don’t use this lens on a tripod much so the foot is a great value. If you do use it on a tripod often I suggest buying the entire replacement collar with the acra foot. The Nikon collar isn’t that great.

[Aluminum] I ordered this after reading that someone else had used it on the Sigma 150-600mm C as the foot on the unit is small and sometime hard to hold on to when handholding a shot, or it can twist when putting on a normal plate for mounting. This is just what I needed, not twisting and it's easy to hold for handheld shots.

[Yes] I was happy to find this for my new NIKON 200-500 f/5.6. It's a well-made, affordable solution to adapt the included Nikon foot for Arca-type tripod heads. Thanks, Kirk!

[Yes] Second of two Kirk QD plates I bought to replace regular Kirk plates. Great construction and I have a high level of confidence in a secure connection, both with the lens foot, and with the QD socket.
