Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I was recently given one of these, can you use LED lamps or do you have to use CFL's?

A: You have to use CFL's

Q: 2. Will it fit a Genaray SpectroLED-14?

A: The Impact 50 x 50 cm Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures is designed for use with the Impact FF-S1 and FF-S4 single- and four-socket fluorescent fixtures, as well as Impact's SF-ABRL160 Slave Flash. Unfortunately, we do not have softboxes that are designed for use with the Genaray SpectroLED-14 Light. The only option we have for use with the Genaray SpectroLED-14 Light for direct diffusion would be the 3/4 Stop Diffusion Sock which was included with the unit.

Q: 3. Hello,Can you sell me the frontal diffuser separately from the rest of the item?

A: Unfortunately, we do not have the replacement diffuser for this softbox as part of our inventory. Your best bet would be to contact the Gradus Group, which is the parent company of Impact via e-mail to customerservice@a href= http://gradusgroup.com. target= _blank gradusgroup.com./a I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Q: 4. The specs say a max of 350W but each socket is rated for 105W. Has anyone tried using 105W CFL's in this fixture with success?

A: I have not but there is a single fuse in the back so my guess is it would work with up to three but I dont think you will be able to put more than three in at once or it will blow the fuse for the whole fixture.

Q: 5. dose it come with the stand ?

A: yes, it does come with a stand if you buy the kit,i do think you can buy each part separate i have to say though, i don't love these lights, i haven't ignored the instructions and used incandescent bulbs in place of the compact flors, but i find that they don't put out much light, and even if you put multiple bulbs in the stand is too flimsy to accommodate the additional weight....

Q: 6. Will this fit onto any light stand or only Impact stands?

A: should fit any. has standard adjust knob.

Q: 7. I'm looking at some CFL Bulbs that are 45W but they are 3" in diameter. Will they fit if using all 7 in the fixture?

A: It is difficult to say as B&H uses slightly smaller than 3" 32W Florescent bulbs in this fixture. 3" might just fit but it depends in part on the shape of the base as well. If it is narrower at the base it may work.

Q: 8. Does this include the softbox, stand, etc? Someone mentioned the stand was of decent quality but I don't see one listed.

A: You have to look for the kit that includes this item. Yes, the stands are quite substantial. Search for rays kit . Sorry for the slow reply.

Q: 9. Can 4x85w or 3x105w bulbs be used safely in this lamp ? I'd like to reach the max rating of 350w, but 50w bulbs seem hard to find and/or very expensive. thank you

A: They are $2 each which is cheap, and they last for years which is a good value. They work very well. I would not change the bulb type at all, ever. Do a search for CFL bulbs 5000K 50W and you will see how easy they are to buy.

Q: 10. Is this made in Germany?

A: Yes, this product is made in Germany.
