The black PortaBrace Wheeled Backpack JVC GY-HC550 Camcordercombines Shoot-Ready rigid frame protection with a smooth-rolling, off-road wheel system. Made of abrasion-resistant 1000-denier Cordura material, this case protects and cradles your camera and accessories using a hollow-core plastic frame, extra-thick padding, and a soft fabric lining. The Rigid-Frame Backpack is compatible with the JVC GY-HC550 and similar camcorders up to 18" in length.

This made-in-the-USA case has a padded pocket that will hold a 17" laptop, a side tripod pocket with a cinch strap, additional interior and exterior accessory pockets, and a retractable handle. It includes a camera cradle, two removable dividers, a padded stuff sack, a small pillow, a white balance card, and a combo carabiner/flashlight.

Extra foam padding and non-slip material on the shoulder straps, removable waist straps, and padded side support straps add comfort when wearing the backpack. The Rigid-Frame Backpack's wheels are constructed with ball bearings and solid steel axles for added strength and can be removed to help prevent damage during air travel.

A: The JVC GY-HM180 Ultra HD 4K Camcorder with HD-SDI only records in 8-bit both internally and externally.

Q: 3. What is the difference between this camera at the hm170?

A: The main difference is the GY-HM180 can do 120 FPS HD for smooth slow motion.

Q: 4. Does this camera come with a battery in the box?

A: Yes. Standard battery. Not the extended one.

Q: 5. Is the date/time stamp located at the bottom of the screen? From what I can tell it looks to be off to the side. I'm wondering if that can be changed.

A: Date and stamp is located in upper right hand side of lcd.

Q: 6. Can the GY-HM180 do more than 60 FPS in 4K mode ?(to get great slow motion)

A: It cannot. This camera only shoots 4K at up to 30fps.

A: The JVC GY-HM180 Ultra HD 4K Camcorder with HD-SDI (B&H# JVGYHM180) has a 3G-SDI BNC video output port, an HDMI output port, and a 1/8" (3.5 mm) TRRS A/V (Composite) video output port. It also has 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone port.

Q: 8. Is this camera considered "web ready"? I am a teacher and my school district keeps asking this question of this camera.

A: No this version of the camera is not web ready

Q: 9. Is the gy hm-180u in the top 10 cameras? And is it a safe idea to use in music videos?

A: We are not aware of any specific top 10 camcorder lists. However this is a very nice, high quality option at an affordable price. It can be used for all kinds of shoots.

Q: 10. Does the lens have a Zoom, Focus and Iris ring?

A: On the lens is a Focus Ring and a Zoom Ring, while on the body near the lens is an Iris Dial.

[Yes] So, I was hesitant to purchase this 6 months ago at the beginning of the pandemic... and then it was on backorder. We shoot multicamera webcasts on a budget and this camera works great. My only issue with it would be that it's too light. Almost feels thinly constructed. Of course the last camcorder that i purchased was an HVX-200... That was a completely different build and for a camera that was 3 times the JVC's price. Then I compared the feel to a Blackmagic pocket 4k... and it feels like the same build. The $80. zoom controller that i purchased (here) ... worked great. sony protocol. The image quality looked great... maybe not the best low light camera out there... So bring lights... Love the SDI connector. Love the pro physical controls all around. For $1500., best bang for the buck. I shouldn't of waited. 5

[Yes] A great price for a 4K camera but while the plastic body may seem a little cheesy it helps keep the weight down and no matter what it's made of I always treat it carefully so body material doesn't matter. I'm a little disappointed I can't seem to get it to an aperture priority mode, maybe it's just me. It produces a quality picture with a choice of many different resolutions. 5
