The Tiffen 4.5" Round Streak Filter - 3mmfrom Tiffen 4.5" Round Streak Filter - 3mmis a special effects filter designed to render a single light ray from a point light source. This filter features a single series of etched lines spaced 3mm apart from each other, which run diametrically across the filter surface. This filter is set in a non-rotating mount and can be used in conjunction with a filter holder or matte box to adjust the orientation of the light ray to suit your composition or desired effect. It is constructed from clear optical-grade glass and mounted in an aluminum filter ring.

A combination factor of the focal length of the lens and the brightness of the light source will determine the effect of this filter. [2-Point Streak] This is a really cool pice of glass. If it's used with lots of lights you get that music video look. I cant really think of a use for this filter outside of a studio or well lit background. I have used it once so far and I'm very happy with my results. It is a bit pricy but all 4X4 filters are. I would not use/or buy this unless you have a matte box with a rotating filter holder. That is a MUST for this product. 5

[2-Point Streak] Great all purpose filter. Definitely smooths skin and blooms highlights for a modern cinematic look. 1/4 is strong enough for most situations while not being too strong to be distracting. 5

[Glass] This is a really great filter for effects shots. If your using this filter with studio lights be mindful of your light positions. If they are really close to the camera you get less streak(so I discovered). If your lights are afurther from the camera(15-20 feet) you get more streak. It's a must to have a matte box with a rotating filter holder with this product so you can turn the streaks any way you want them. It's a neat filter, I'm looking forward to using it again. 5

[Glass] I have used this product for a music video and it worked very well. The streaks are not over powering but very good looking visually. I would recommenced this product to any real professional, a great weapon in my matte box arsenal. 5
