A: The 085BS replaces the no longer available 085B. I believe the only difference in the boom arms was the color and the length. If memory serves me correctly the 085B has a 7' silver boom and the 085BS has a 9' black boom.They are both three section arms with the same counterweight and spigot. While I've never owned the 085B I do own the 085BS and can au the stand and the boom arm are extremely sturdy and hold up very well.

[58 x 7 x 7"] This is a huge boom and works really well. It breaks down to travel although the weight is fairly large, it requires a big bag. The allen wrench connections take about 1 minute to unscrew and take apart. Cable clips are handy but a bag would be nice to have included to keep it all in. 5

[5/8" Receiver] I use this as my hair light for videos using a 12-lb led lamp. It's very sturdily made as expected for a Manfrotto product. But the best part is it's easily adjustable to different angles and heights. It is kind of heavy, but what do you expect for something that has to do what it does. 5

[31.6 lb] This boom is really built and will certainly do the job. The casters are nice and make moving it around a lot easier. You don't want to be picking this unit up, it is heavy and that's without the counterweight. Only downfall I've found is if you use it without the counterweight, you really have to crank down the handle to keep it in place. In spite of this, I still rate it a 5. 5

[31.6 lb] It's heavy, but that is why I bought it. Packaging was definitely heavy duty and arrived in fine shape. Even though there weren't any instructions included, I had no difficulty in assembling. Many levers for making adjustments in boom angle, stand height, etc. All levers easy to operate. Product made from quality high grade materials and I see many, many years of usage. Fits the bill completely. 5
