The M-1 can be used on a shelf, wall-mounted using the included hardware, or on optional floorstands. It can even be positioned horizontally for use as a center channel speaker.

Made by the same designers that created the CM Series, the tweeter in the M-1 is tube-loaded. The tube is engineered to soak up unwanted resonance from the back of the tweeter to help produce detailed, precise audio from the front.

The mid-woofer features the Bowers & Wilkins Anti-Resonance Plug, an acoustic innovation designed for the PM1 speaker. Made from polymer foam, the mushroom-shaped device is engineered to soak up resonance while also reducing cone break-up, enhancing clarity and detail in the midrange.

The clamshell cabinet is formed from two interlocking, continuously curving sections, providing a minimum of noise-inducing seams, joints, and discontinuities to help provide a rigid, well-damped, air-tight design.

The signal cable is routed into the table stand, where the signal reaches the speaker via a pre-wired arm support.

Audio is dispersed over a 60° horizontal arc and over a 10° vertical arc.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used just as a center speaker?

A: The Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 3 400W 3.1.2-Channel Soundbar cannot be used as only a center-channel speaker, as it is made to take full audio from the audio output of the TV.

Q: 2. Hi! I love these speakers. They are beautiful and they produce wonderful sound! ...Until I moved them... I used the same mogami gold cables I had when they were on my desk and wall mounted them (using genelec wall mounts) high up almost near the ceiling inside my vocal booth. But now certain bass frequencies are way over pronounced in my booth and I'm experiencing a boomy bass in the lower frequencies that I can't clear up. I know my speakers need to be calibrated in this new configuration, but I'm not sure what to do or what to buy. Can anyone help? Is there software? Is the GLM kit compatible with this model? An audiobook narrator in Atlanta would love your expertise. Thanks in advance!

A: You can try using a bass trap in your booth like B&H # AULBTCHP for example.

Q: 3. What is the physical size

A: The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Bar 3-Channel Soundbar is 48.8 x 4.3 x 4.2".

Q: 4. What are the differences between the G4 and the 8040B? They seem to be identical, aside from the RCA inputs on the G4.

A: Genelec G Four 2-Way Powered Bookshelf Speaker (Black, Single), BH # GEG4AMM, has slightly different specification, ncluding the RCA input, from the 8040B. For your convenience. Q: 5. I have the B&W wedge, how does this compare?

A: The Wedge is a slightly higher end speaker with a newer version of bluetooth, slightly smaller profile, it produces some lower bass frequencies that the Zeppelin does not and the Wedge has a slightly larger driver as well.

Q: 6. What kind of amp do I need to use with this passive sub?

A: The Bowers & Wilkins ISW-6 In-Wall Subwoofer (B&H # BOISW6) must be connected to an amplifier or receiver that supports a subwoofer output. This is designated with a ".1" in the channel configuration, such as in 2.1 or 5.1-channel setups. Ideally, this amp/receiver should supply 150-250W per channel at 8 ohms.

Q: 7. Does this system works in dual voltage range of 110-220 volts?

A: Yes the B&O Formation Bar is 100 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz compatible.

Q: 8. Which sub pairs with these?

A: The Genelec G Three 2-Way Powered Bookshelf Speaker (RAW Aluminum, Single), BH # GEG3BRW, will pair nicely with the Genelec F Two 8 1/16" 150W Subwoofer (White), B&H # GEF2BWMWHT.

Q: 9. Dual voltage?

A: The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless Speaker model that we offer will only work in North America.

[2-Way] I am using Wharfedale 4.2 speakers and Marantz pm-6006 integrated amp. This little sub is a very nice fit for my system. I am 58 years old and want full sound without a lot of volume. This sub has lots of connections options and filters to customize the sound to my liking. It is the final link to a really good sounding system. I am in a 12' x 18' room with hardwood floors for reference. We are using this for TV, Movies and Music with a Marantz NA-6006 and AT-LP5 turntable.

[6.615 lb] Returned a new Sonos Play:5 which was half the price. The Wedge sound is so much cleaner and more spacious; great sound stage. Hard to believe it comes from such a relatively small (wireless!) package. Even pleases my wife with the Art Deco design. B&W Formation app works fine to set up. Very easy. Comes with 60-day trial of Roon which I highly recommend. Would absolutely buy again and feel it is well worth the $.

[Bass-Reflex] I have a pair of B&W 606 S2 speakers that I absolutely loved for hi fi stereo listening. Been happy for years but recently decided to try the 706 S3 because I always wondered why the 706 cost more than $1000 more than the 606. After 30 seconds, I know why. The midrange and highs from the 706 is silky smooth and depending on the material, the sound stage is deep. Sometimes I think the instruments and the singer(s) is in the same room! It's that good. I am driving these speakers with a McIntosh MC275 and boy does it sound good. Also the fit and finish of the cabinet is much higher than on the 606 series which might matter to some people. For me it's the exceptional and accurate reproduction of musical instruments and vocals that matter most to me.
