Q: 2. How would this work a AKG C414 XLII?

A: With 48V enabled, the MOTU M4 Desktop 4x4 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface will accept a connection into its main XLR combo jack inputs from the AKG C414 XLII Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone via standard 3-Pin XLR cable.

Q: 5. Can it send USB MIDI to an iOS device over its host ports?

A: If you iOs devices uses USB 3.1, then yes. But if you have a newer machine with lightning or thunderbolt, then no.

Q: 6. This is similar to a previous question about Outputs 3&4. You answered that 3&4 will mirror 1&2 and you can use them for a separate set of monitors, which is what I plan to do. My question is can you switch between the two sets, like an A/B switch or something? Since there isn't a hard switch, is there a control panel which will do this? I'm in the Mac universe.

A: After doing some research, I see that other M4 users have asked MOTU about the same thing (switching between two sets of monitors) but it seems that the M4 does not offer that feature at this time. The only option for now is to route the two outputs to a separate mixer or A/B switch. You may want to contact MOTU directly to let them know that having the ability to switch between two sets of monitors is a desirable feature that users would like to have on the M4. You can reach MOTU by phone at 617-576-2760. Their offices are based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Q: 7. I need system to run on Win7 32bit. I need it to be compatible and not like MOTU that just say it Win7 is no longer supported.

Q: 8. Will this work with ProTools?

A: Yes, you can set up the Impact LX25+ controller for use with Pro Tools.

Q: 9. Can I use this MIDI hub in a live show? And would each MIDI controller work individually in Ableton Live (using different VSTs on each MIDI controller of course)?

A: Yes, the ESI M4U eX could be used for a live performance. Each MIDI input will be recognized as a separate channel by your DAW.

Q: 10. Can you connect it directly to the new IPad Air 4th gen, via USB-C, or do you need an adaptor/CCK?

A: Yes, the MOTU M4 can be connected directly to iOS devices with USB-C running iOS 9 or later using a standard USB-C to USB-C cable.

[Yes, via USB] Very impressive keyboard controller for the price. I'm using it with Reaper and with the included Bitwig 8-Track and it works seamlessly with both DAWs for me on Windows 10. Good keys and great pads. Also impressed so far with Bitwig - the included copy is limited to 8 tracks but includes 3 instruments and tons of effects. Quite nice. This is my first Nektar product so I can't speak to long-term durability but out of the box its a hit.

[0.85 lb] They look awesome. But more importantly the rock. The sound is crisp and true. They are small but they pack a punch. There are multiple ways to hook them up and they come with a nice set of XLR cables. I have nothing negative to say about these speakers
