The Cre8audio NiftyCASE is a portable powered 84 HP Eurorack case with MIDI to CV conversion capabilities. The unit's flying busboard can power up to 10 modules, providing industry-standard power with over 1500mA of +12V, 500mA of -12V, and 500mA of +5V.

The case can convert MIDI inputs to CV, gate, modulation, and clock information, allowing you to integrate your modular rig into your DAW/MIDI system. The top of the unit features both USB and DIN MIDI inputs, with the converted signals showing up on standard 3.5mm outputs located on the front of the rack. The CV 1 and Gate 1 outputs respond to MIDI channel 1, while CV 2 and Gate 2 respond to MIDI channel 2. If you play a chord on MIDI channel 3, the lowest note is sent to CV 1 and Gate 1, while the highest note is sent to CV 2 and Gate 2 (single notes are sent to both outputs simultaneously). Modulation information sent from your MIDI keyboard is converted and sent to the Mod output. MIDI clock information sent to the NiftyCASE is converted to 1/8 note triggers on the Clock output.

The NiftyCASE offers two 3.5mm audio inputs on the front panel which are summed to the 1/4" output on top. The top of the unit also features the power input for the included wall-wart power supply, the power button, and a DIN MIDI Thru port.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can anyone tell me the thread size on the bottom of this unit (for boom pole, etc)? I need to adapt it to an old-school mic stand. Thanks!

A: Hi Jeff: thanks for your question. It's 3/8 . If your old-school stand is 5/8 , you can use the following adapter: a href= http://mymic.rycote.com/products/brass-3_8-m-to-5_8-f-screw-adaptor/. target= _blank http://mymic.rycote.com/products/brass-3_8-m-to-5_8-f-screw-adaptor/./a Basically, any 3/8 M to required size adapter will work. I hope that helps!

Q: 2. There has to be a way to attach this to a cold shoe, does anyone know how?

A: Use this adapter: WindTech CM-38 Photo Hot Shoe to 3/8"-16 Male Adapter B&H # WICM38

Q: 3. what is the country of origin for this item?

A: The country of origin for this item is the United Kingdom.

Q: 4. does the dead cat come with this?

A: Yes, a dead cat style windshield (windjammer) is included with the Rycote Windshield 9 Kit CMC 1 Modular Windshield for Schoeps CMC 1 Microphone.

Q: 5. what is the Windscreen Length?

A: The Rycote Windshield # 4 is 330mm (13 ) in length, 440mm (17.3 ) with the end caps. Designed to accommodate mics up to 280m. (11 )

Q: 6. will this work with the CMC 1 and cut 60?

A: Yes, this should work with the CMC1 and the Cut 60 capsule together.

Q: 7. Would this grip and suspension work with the Rycote 21mm BBG as an alternative to the kit included blimp and softie? Would like to use this for it's handling noise features with an AT BP4025 and have the BBG as a smaller footprint option to the blimp.

A: The grip and suspension found within Rycote Modular Windshield Kit WS 3 with XLR-5F and Connbox CB4 would not work with the Rycote BBG Windshield, as the BBG does not accommodate internal suspensions and is designed for covering the head of the microphone only, as opposed to encapsulating the entire microphone.

Q: 8. I use this with my CMC641, but would like to get a miniCMIT. Any one know if it will work with that?

A: Hi Veronica. Yes, it will definitely work.

Q: 9. does this fit sennheiser mke 600?

A: Yes, the Rycote Windshield Kit 4 will fit the Sennheiser MKE 600 microphone. You can also use the Rycote Super-Blimp Kit for Rode NTG & Shotgun Mics 11" Length, 0.7-0.9" Diameter (B&H # RYWKNTG) or the Rycote Super-Shield Kit for Shotgun Mics - Medium (B&H # RYSSKM) or the Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun Microphones (B&H # ROBLIMPR).

Q: 10. Will the Sennheiser MKE 600 work with this Blimp?

A: This blimp system is made specifically for stereo microphones, so would not be appropriate for a mono shotgun mic.. I would consider the Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun Microphones, BH #ROBLIMPR or the Rycote Windshield Kit for Sennheiser MKH416 & Other Select Shotgun Microphones, BH# RYWMKH416, which would both accommodate the Sennheiser ME66, with the K6 powering module.

[5.635 lb] I really like these cables because they are pink, flexible, the length that I ordered, and they let me plug together modules in my modular synth.

[5.635 lb] I preordered the VL2 based purely on my enjoyment of Pittsburgh's previous Taiga synth. The VL2 is a completely blank slate for you to dive in, experiment and tweak/build to your hearts desire. The new waveform/folding options are deep and the sequencer on this system is amazing. Create anything from polyrhythms and percussives to full on melodic arrangements, all complete with chance/scanning/scrubbing/fills/slides etc. The middle blue row (shared by both sequencers) is a terrific idea that opens up your modulation options in really fun ways that you may not fully realize until you get your hands on the system. Florist chorus/reverb and a longer delay (than the Taiga) are welcome effect additions to add flavor to any arrangement. I LOVE this synth. It's big, it's easy to touch and play and it sounds amazing. They nailed it once again.
