Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Re: top-loading one sheet of fine art paper, spec sheet says yes, user manual says no. Which is correct?

A: On the SureColor p900 the top feed mentioned on our site is what the manual calls the rear paper feeder. I might say it is the top rear feed as opposed to the front tray paper feed.

Q: 2. Using the rear roll feeder how do you cut off the print at the perfect straight angle so the next print doesn't misalign?

A: Epson SureColor P900 17" Photo Printer operating instructions can be found at the manufacture's website. Please see the link below. https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd58636/index.html

A: Yes, this Epson SureColor P900 17" Photo Printer is 100 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz power.

Q: 4. What are inexpensive acid free 8x11 papers with gloss or semigloss surface that I can use with this printer for proofs?

A: Currently at less than 27 cents per sheet, this Premier Imaging luster is the lowest cost option: https://bhpho.to/2J2xnxU. For glossy, the Epson Photo Paper Glossy is the lowest cost per print option at 32 cents currently: https://bhpho.to/3RhJflf

Q: 5. Is it possible to feed a 30" long sheet of photo paper cut from a roll rather than use the roll adapter?

A: Yes, one can print a 30" cut sheet with the Epson SureColor P900 17" Photo Printer by using custom paper sizes. One can pretty much print up to the largest file size one would have.

Q: 6. What is cost of set of high capacity ink cartridges?

A: The B&H selling it for $41.99 high capacity ink.

Q: 7. What are the dimensions of the printer with all the trays closed and no roll feeder attached? The dimensioned photo is not to scale and shows everything unfolded/attached.

A: 20.3" wide x 7.3" tall x 14.5" deep. this is only when closed up. when in use the depth & height will be much bigger.

[Epson T46Y] I decided it was time to get back into being able to print my photography and decided I would go with the Epson P900 since I have always been happy with Epson.

B&H shipping is fantastic, two days and the printer was here!!

When the unit arrived I had just finished doing my monitor calibration with my new Calibrite Display Plus HL. The installation of the printer was a snap to wireless and my computer, not one problem on my Mackbook Pro M2.

I love the Epson Media Installer that loads both the printer setup files and the associated ICC profiles. The media files take care of internal printer adjustments allowing for everything up to poster paper to print flawlessly and it really works!

Since I use Red River paper I downloaded their media files from them and everything just works. The colors are incredible, the blacks for astrophotography are stunning, and for the first time, I can print on high-quality matte paper and get prints looking like what I want/expect. I print once and have what I expected, no testing required.

What has impressed me is that even with the limited ink supplied with the printer I have yet to run out of ink after doing a fair amount of printing up to 17X22.

The Biggest thing that has impressed me is not one paper feed problem!

[5760 x 1440 dpi] I have had a P800 for many years and it has printed many excellent photos. So far it seems that the new P900 exceeds the performance of the P800 in every way. It is a delight to use and the resolution and color are both beyond excellent.

[Color] A smaller footprint and a larger substrate capability than my old 4800 printer makes this one a winner. While the printing software has changed a little over the years, the results are well worth the learning curve. And a huge added benefit is the vast array of new substrates.
I've long ago committed myself to using Epson printers, inks and papers- its definitely the way to go.

[5760 x 1440 dpi] I needed a pigment printer that easily prints on thick, rigid media. This works great for that and the photos I've printed have looked great too!
