The light beige Countryman E6i Directional Earset Mic, Low Gain, LEMO 4-Pin Connectoris a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6i earset's cable terminates to a LEMO 4-pin connector for direct connection to Beyerdynamic TS 316, TS 400, and TS 600 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Q: 6. Can this mic be used with Zoom or FaceTime for live-streaming a wedding? Also how far (distance wise) can this mic be setup to pickup good audio of the priest & couple?

A: No, unfortunately the VideoMic Me does not work for livestreaming.through Zoom or FaceTime on the iPhone. According to Apple, external mics do not work with iOS for video conferencing apps, although they can be used with iOS for telephone-type apps without video. For live video streaming on the iPhone, only the built-in mic will work. However, you can use the VideoMic Me for recording audio with video on the iPhone. The mic is designed to be a "selfie" style mic and will pick up audio from up to approximately 12 feet away, depending on the environment.

Q: 7. Several people have asked the question about using on a dslr. I would love to use this on a dslr because it has a headphone monitor and line out. My dslr doesn't have a headphone out. This device would almost solve the audio monitoring issue that most cheap dslr's have( no headphone jack out). I know that it wouldn't be the gain controlled audio from the camera but just the raw audio coming from the mic but it is better than nothing. So, It seems like this mic would work just fine for dslr, but I wanted to be 100% sure if the jack on the mic that is TRRS(the kind with the extra ring in the connector, not just a regular TRS jack) would work with a dslr camera? Does the mic need the extra ring for power?

A: Hi, you won't be able to plug this mic (with TRRS connection) into a DSLR (with TRS input). You could use the SC3 adaptor, but you will have nowhere to mount the mic to the camera. It really has only been designed for smartphones, not DSLR cameras.

Q: 8. The overview states that it will accommodate a wide range of smartphones. Can you be more specific on what phones the mic does and does not fit?

A: The VideoMic Me will work fine with any smartphone that has a TRRS jack on the edge of the device, as long as the camera is not blocked by the rear of the mic mount. This mount is flexible and will adjust to accommodate the thickness of most smartphones on the market.

Q: 9. Would this device be good for recording bird song? Birds can be 100 or more ft away.

A: No, the Rode VideoMic Me Directional Mic for Smartphones is designed to work like a "selfie" mic to record audio while recording video closeup and within in a few feet from the smartphone. It will not pick up birds from as close as 20 feet away. It is not a good mic for recording birdsongs. If you are going to be recording birds that are 100 feet or further away, you will need a specialized setup with a parabolic dish for capturing sounds from very far. You would also want to use a digital recorder that will capture higher quality audio. Please contact our pro audio department by phone or through live chat on the website and we can help you to put together a setup that will be best suited for your needs and budget.

Q: 10. Most demonstrations of the Rode VideoMic Me emphasize audio for closeups--either selfies or interviews. How will the mic work at greater distance from the sound source--10 feet, for example?

A: Just like any other mic, John. Camera mounted mics, boom mics...any mics sound better when you are closer and worse when you are further away. The Rode video mic does have an interference tube to help block out sound from the side, which does help. It's WAY better than the little pinhole mic in the phone. When I get further away, I use a lavalier mic. I do have a long cord, but I prefer to plug the lavalier into a small Zoom audio recorder, which fits in the pocket. Then I snyc up the sound in post. Otherwise, I keep my subject close up.

[1 to 2 V] The recrding quality and size of he isomax 2 microphones make them the perfect choice for recording percussion instruments like frame drums, udus and other instruments that create internal sound which are hard to capture with an external microphone. The best result often is a mix of internal and external micing; my choice for he internal part is isomax

[1 to 2 V] If you need a cardioid lav this is a great choice. This is a great mic and much needed upgrade for the Sennheiser wireless kit. A little small and delicate if you are used to the Sennheiser lavs, but sound MUCH MUCH better.
