They allow the transition to be blended into the scene, often imperceptibly. A neutral density 0.6-to-clear, with a two-stop differential, will generally compensate the average bright sky-to-foreground situation and is also the most popular density of the series.

Lee graduated resin filters are 4 x 6" (100 x 150mm) x 2mm thick. The 6" length allows for adjustment of the filter within the holder.

A: There are two slots that the filter can go in. Be sure to put the Lee Stopper in the slot that is the closer to the camera with the soft part towards the camera as well. Those two things should keep light from filtering in. Also, make sure that you cover the eyepiece either with tape or the cover provided by the camera mfg.
