A: The inner portion of the socket is ceramic while the outer portion is plastic.

[Yes] I thought I would leave an update to my previous review. I did get the umbrellas into their spot...right after I left my review. I guess I was trying to hard the first few times but now easy as pie. All in all this is a very nice set for my needs at the time. 5

[Silver] Just wanted to give portraiture a try. Glad I have the chance to try without a huge outlay. If I decide not to I can still use it for stills. Love the fact that I can only grow with it if I decide this is the way for me to go. I honk this was a great starting point 5

[Yes] I found this set to be a great value, specially if you compare the price of buying them separately. The size is great for everyday use indoors. They come with a carry bag for each umbrella making them easy to carry, they are lightweight. The materials are the traditional Elinchrom quality. 5
