Updated with a new look and redesigned housing, the Kowa 6x30 YF II Binoculars are designed to be your go-to accessory when you're out for a hike, sightseeing around town, or taking in a game at the park or stadium.

Outfitted with eco-friendly glass to make them easy on the environment, the overall form factor is compact and lightweight without compromising performance. The relatively low 6x magnification produces a generous view, so you won't have to move your head very much to see all the action from one end of the pitch to the other, and the ergonomic Porro prism configuration not only delivers a rich depth of field, but fits in the hand comfortably with a nice center balance.

The housing is protected with a new green rubber armor that also offers a slip-resistant grip. The body is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging—so you can stay out in the rain if you want. They may handle a spill in a puddle or stream better than you will. Kowa thoughtfully includes a case, neck strap, and a full set of lens caps.

[30 mm] Very impressed. Sharpness in center not unlike my Trinovids. Field curvature, but that's the nature of binoculars. Light, handy, great eye relief, well built. Unreal for only a hundred bucks. Don't hesitate. They do the job well.

[7 x 6.7 x 2.9"] I own Swarovski EL 8.5x42 and Nikon HG 8x42. I know a good pair of binoculars when I see one. I purchased 6x30 because of 5mm exit pupil and 20mm eye relief- same number as my Swarovski EL. The view through this tiny binocular was very good indeed. Field curvature was gradual and not distracting at all. It's a cute little bino that feels good in your hand.

[5 mm] Many years ago when a kid I used my neighbour's Army pair of 6X30 binoculars. The views were bright, vibrant and sharp. Now 40+ years later I purchased the 6X30 Kowa YF II. Light and easy to use. So easy to aim, I use glasses in bright light. These are my garden birding and astronomy table binoculars. If I am picky I would say the outer 15% of the 8 degree fov is a wee bit mushy but this does not distract from sharp vibrant 85% which is what we see. A veritable bargain for the price. Lovely colours on birds. Sharp optics with a distinct 3D view that good porro binoculars produce.

[Porro] I wanted a pair of low magnification, wide-angled binoculars for star gazing with my 5 yr old granddaughter. I decided to give these a try and I am very happy with them. They are very easy to hold steady due to the low magnification and the wide angle of view is perfect for star gazing. Waterproof construction and very good eye relief are icing on the cake.

[30 mm] Am 76 and developed some hand shake and though lower power would help and it does!! Been into Binos all my life. Have a collection of expensive Astro Bino's, but even with tripods have problems. A few years ago I purchase the Kowa's and love them. Clarity, colors, detail are outstandinding. recently purchased a second pair. One keep in my truck, the other in my house.

[8° (Actual)] Excellent optics for the money. Very light weight, the lower magnification gives you a steady image. I'm finding I prefer these to my current roof prisms. It seems the focus is more forgiving and I find I have to fiddle with it less on the porro prisms. I am loving the wide field of view and my vision requires a ridiculous amount of eye relief, which these have plenty. Great binoculars for a beginner for all these reasons. Very happy with my purchase and B&H is a great company to order from.

[8° (Actual)] If you need a very high quality, lightweight porro prism binocular, then these are the ones you need to buy. These are my hiking binos, which replaced much heavier and larger binos. The image in these binos are big, bright, and sharp. If I could make one observation, it's the eye relief is a bit too long in that you cannot rest your eyes on the fully extended eye cups. I highly recommend this bino.
