The cocoa Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Earset Mic with 3.5mm Connectoris a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6i earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm connector for direct connection to Amplivox S-1600T and S-1690T wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone used these with the Tascam DR-40?

A: The Movo Photo LV4-O2 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with XLR Connector is compatible for use with the Tascam DR-40 Portable Audio Recorder. The recorder can supply the 48V of phantom power that the mic requires.

Q: 2. How would this perform as a headset mic for football/basketball playcallers? Is the isolation pretty good?

A: This product works well for this application, providing decent off-axis rejection of unwanted ambient sound. Keeping your gain settings a little lower on the bodypack will also help reduce ambient bleed. In particularly loud environments and in sports applications, it may also be helpful to mute or turn off your bodypack between announcements or calls to avoid unwanted speech or noise transmissions between uses.

Q: 3. Can you remove the locking part of the 3.5mm connector to work with DJI Mic 2?

A: You cannot remove the locking part of the 3.5mm connector on the Sennheiser ME 2 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector (Black). However, you can still use it with the DJI Mic 2, but the locking mechanism would just be loose and can rattle with movement. A little bit of gaffer tape would remedy this though.

Q: 4. How long is the cable?

A: If this cable is not long enough for your needs, you could always attach another XLR cable to the headsets XLR cable. You can run up 200 feet of interconnect XLR cables before you have to worry about sound degradation.I hope this helps!

Q: 5. What kind of mic accessory can go with the mic for attaching to clothing?

A: The Tentacle Sync Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector comes with a mic clip for attaching to clothing.

Q: 6. I have a behringer q1202 usb mixer. Will this headset mic work with the XLR connector plugged in directly?

A: Yes, the WH20 with the XLR connector will work with your Q1202. It is a dynamic mic, so you do not use Phantom Power.

Q: 7. can i use this mic on any receptor that fits the mini xlr cable? for example the Shure FP G5.

A: The Shure FP series transmitters feature a 4 pin connection for microphones not compatible with this mic.

Q: 8. will this work with shure BLX14/P31?

A: Pretty sure it will. It comes with the connector/adapter that will fit the Shure body pack. I never tried it.

Q: 9. Can I plug the microphone into my phone as a recording device?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser ME 2 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector can be connected to a smartphone if used with a mobile interface and appropriate adapters. For the mobile interface, you could use items such as the IK Multimedia iRig Pre 2 Ultracompact XLR Microphone Interface (B&H # KPIRIGPRE2I), or the IK Multimedia iRig Pre HD Audio Interface with Mic Pre (B&H # IKIRIGPREHD), or the Comica Audio LinkFlex AD2 Single-Channel Mic and Guitar Interface for Smartphones and Cameras (B&H # COLNKFLEXAD2). To connect the mic to the interface, use the Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) to convert the mic's 3.5mm connector to XLR and also to convert 48V of phantom power to the proper amount of plug-in power required to power the mic. The interface will also provide volume control and a headphone jack so you can monitor the audio. Depending on the type of phone that you have and the interface you will be using, you may need to use an adapter for connection to the input on you phone. The iRig Pre HD includes USB-C and Lightning cables, but the iRig Pre 2 and the AD2 have an attached cable with a 3.5mm TRRS connector so you may need either a USB-C or Lightning adapter for connection to Android phones and iPhones. For USB-C, you can use the IK Multimedia iRig Pre HD Audio Interface with Mic Pre (B&H # IKIRIGPREHD) and for Lightning, use the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP).

[Omnidirectional] I did a lot of research before buying this unit. I wanted good sound, but I did not want wireless. I play the keyboard and sing at the same time, so I needed a hands free mic. Countryman is a classy product that is worth the money. I texted with a guy at the Countryman site and he answered my questions and guided me along. Then I found the best price with free shipping at BH, and called and talked to Jeff, who answered more of my questions. Then I ordered from the BH site online on a Thursday night, and got a message that it would arrive in 7-10 days! Shipping from the manufacturer. But because Countryman is in CA, it showed up on Monday morning! I use it with a low cost Behringer mixer, which provides phantom power to the unit. I'm not a great singer, but have gotten lots of compliments since using this mic. Thank you BH and Countryman!
