Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the tv be mounted horizontally and vertically?

A: Yep...

Q: 2. What is the maximum height of the Gator compact media tray assuming the tray lies flat to hold a laptop?

A: 48 max height

Q: 3. Instructions on mounting?

A: The product didn't come with instructions. It's fairly straightforward to set up but it doesn't exactly work as advertised. The stand is excellent and heavy duty. The mounting hardware wouldn't hold my 37 Sony LCD TV without modification. The tension knob for the down-tilting function isn't strong enough to hold a TV of substantial weight. Instead, I had to remove the bolts and turn the unit upside down (so that what was the the top limit of the tilt is now the bottom) in order to get it to work. I also had to buy extenders for the VESA mount because the biggest spacing it would accommodate is 200 x 200 and I needed 300 x 200.

Q: 4. Is the thread at the top 1/4-20?

A: The Gator Cases Frameworks desktop mic stand features a 3/8-16 threaded male top, along with an adapter to convert it to 5/8-27.

Q: 5. What diameter of poster tube will the stand fit into? I would like to pair it with the hard Gator TV case.

A: The Gator Frameworks Standard Tripod LCD/LED Stand (BH # GAGFWAVLCD1) total diameter of the folded legs is not specified. A 5" poster tube may be large enough to accommodate the folded tripod legs.

Q: 6. Is this safe and quiet enough (no squeaks rendering the shockmount useless) to use on suspended large condenser mics?

A: The photos show dynamic, lighter microphones, which is a good indication of the appropriate use of these quick-release devices. A red safety collar indicates when the quick release isn't fully engaged. Typically used in performance/stage environments where fast turnover needed.

Q: 7. does the GFW-MIC-0601 is compatible with the Rode Podmic USB? or should i buy an adapter?

A: Yes, the Gator Frameworks Desktop Mic Stand is compatible for use with the RODE PodMic USB and XLR Dynamic Broadcast Microphone.

Q: 8. What make is the adjustable grip at the top of the stand or the whole stand kit? Any idea where it is on this site?

A: This mic holder can attach to any mic stand with a 5/8-inch threaded top, or other stands with 3/8-inch threaded male connectors.

Q: 9. Is this clamp large enough to clamp onto a standard C-stand?

A: The 11 x 15" Gator Frameworks Large Microphone-Stand Accessory Shelf can fit C-stand tubing up to 1.8" / 40mm in diameter.

Q: 10. Can this be operated using USB power? If not, what is the voltage range on which this will be operated?

A: Yes. The following unit is powered up via usb cable.

[15.5 lb] I really like these stands. They look nice and works well. I used for QSC K12.2 which is about 50lb. it can push the speaker up 80% by itself and i needed to help a little to push all the way up. it would be nice if there is a plastic cap on top of the pole. The instruction is not adequate. You need to pull the legs off the hook at bottom (red plastic) before you can expand the legs out. In summary, raising up the speaker is very easy, no need to ask for second person to help.

[55 x 12 x 11"] This stand provides support for my MXL BCD-1 Microphone, and it does it in style. The base provides solid support, without taking too much space, the keeper holds the mic cord in place, and the height is easy to adjust.

It does exactly what a mic stand should do, and the price is right!

[Aluminum] Ok I have to admit i bought these just because i liked the industrial design. The way the fold up and the look of the legs was just stylish. The BEST part is that they are the best performing speaker stands that i have ever used. I love the cam style locks vs the old school knobs. The lift mechanism is very convenient and makes it easy for one guy to set-up. They are expensive but worth it. I run a 10 DJ company in the DC area and plan to buy more of these as we replace our speaker stands.

[15.5 lb] This stand feels like real professional quality.
It's a pretty simple design, but the build is strong and sturdy.
The adjustment / locking mechanism is easy to operate with one hand, and feels like it's never going to let me down (or run around and desert me)..
Folds up nice and compact too.

[15.5 lb] I picked up, and used a set of these stands, for the first time, this weekend. My initial impression is very positive. Case: Heavy duty. Two separated compartments(one for each stand). The two-pack with the case is imperative. These stands are beautiful, and should always be protected Aesthetics: Best looking speaker stands on the market. No more beat-up label scratched speaker stands, with bulky tripod legs. This stand folds into a single cylinder. Clamp design is simple. But, if the clamp isn't facing you, it's a little difficult to know which way to release it. Engineering: Pneumatics - Awesome. I set my K12.2's on the stand, flipped open the clamp, and up it went. If your speaker is under the weight limit for the lift, you'll need to pull it down, with a little force. It would be nice to have some way of indicating your preferred speaker height (I'm OCD, 'nuff said). Speaker Pole: Adapts to 35 mm. It would have been nice to put a plastic insert at the top of the pole. As it is now, it's exposed metal. When you sit your speaker on the speaker pole, the contact is metal to metal. Tripod Design: Overall design is very solid. I never felt my speakers were compromised, due to shabby construction of the stand. As noted by another reviewer, the knob to retain the extension, came loose during setup. Also, the red rubber feet on the bottom of the stand were easily removed. Hopefully, they won't loosen further, over time. I appreciate the time that Gator put into designing these speaker stands. They are definitely worth the price. Gator has managed to change my perception of the products with this series. I'm now considering the Frameworks microphone stands.
