The cocoa Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Earset Mic for Audix Transmittersis a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6i earset's cable terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to Audix B60 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. To keep out of my shot, how far away can this be placed from the subject? For a one person indoor interview.

A: The Audix SCX1-HC can be placed at around 5 feet away from the person talking, at the very most.

Q: 2. Can this be used with condenser podium mics such as the Shure Centraverse CVG18-B/C?

A: This adapter is meant to be used with specific Audix mics utilizing a ta3f connection. This would not be compatible with standard XLR mics like the Shure CVG18-B/C.

Q: 3. Can this be used to supply power for the Electro-Voice RE92L?

A: The APS911 is designed for use with Audix mics that feature a mini XLR connection. Unfortunately not confirmed to operate with non Audix mics due to differences in mic wiring and power requirements.

Q: 4. Is this comparable with the Audix HT2 -Condenser Headworn Microphone?

A: This kit comes with the Audix HT2 condenser headworn microphone.

Q: 5. will this power up an MKH 60 ?that needs phantom power, and then connect the output to a wireless plugon that does not supply phantom

A: No, the Audix APS910 will not work with the MKH 60 because it converts 48V phantom power to plug-in power of less than 9V for lavalier and headset mics. As a better option, use the Sennheiser K6 Microphone System Powering Module (B&H # SEK6Q) which uses a AA battery to supply phantom power and has standard XLR connectors on both sides.

Q: 6. Are these capsules interchangeable with Audix's micro series of microphones?

A: Hi Tyrone, The capsules on the Audix SCX1 mics are a different diameter to the Audix Micro series so are not interchangeable. The Audix Micro series does have field replaceable capsules in cardioid, hyper-cardioid and omni versions.

Q: 7. What kind of capsul comes with this mic? Its not shown in the In the Box tab in BH.

A: This version of the Audix SCX1 ships with a Hyper Cardioid capsule. A cardioid and omni directional capsule is also available, making this mix a great modular solution.

Q: 8. Can this be used with other than Audix mics?

A: It's actually a bit more complicated that John P's answer. You have to make sure the polarity on the mic you want to use is matched to the polarity of the power supply. I bought this power supply intending to use it with a non-Audix mic but the polarities were not matched and I only got a very faint, noisy signal. Bought an Audix mic and it works great.

Q: 9. Is this able to hold the SureSM7B Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone, which weighs 1.69 lbs?

A: Yes, on just the vertical pole this will be able to hold an SM7B.

Q: 10. The input connector is listed as mini XLR female - according to pics online, it is mini XLR Male, which would make sense. Can anyone confirm?

A: Obviously it's a mini XLR male! And the stuff does its job perfectly. I use it with my Shure condenser head-microphone (with an adapter cable from ta4f to ta3f)...
