[White] This stand is quite large and heavy. It's honestly a bit more than what I would like but I wanted a windup stand that would support a large boom and where both risers went up via the crank. If this was 2/3 the size that it is, it would be perfect and work much better for location work. Still, it's a great stand and does exactly what it's designed to do so it get's 5 stars. I won't be taking it on location unless there is very definitive need and I have a couple strong dudes to wrangle it.

[White] This Heavy Duty Wall Mount Base mounts the two-joint mic arm to the wall. It is sturdy and perfect for the job. I mounted it at about shoulder-height for me, which makes the boom arm go low/high enough for any of my student voice talents that may use my booth. In order to make this mount fit a standard 2x4 stud, behind the double 5/8 drywall, I needed to manufacture a custom wooden block made out of a 2x4. This allows the horizontal mounting holes of the wall-mount to be fastened to the wooden block, while the block is mounted securely to the wall with two vertically positioned 4 screws through the drywall and into the stud. The two 4 screws are hidden by the wall-mount once the mount is attached to the block by the four shorter screws.

[White] Like all the manfrotto stands I use this one just awesome. It is on the heavy side, but thats to be expected with a steel stand. The leveling is nice feature too. I use this stand for as my boom stand to hold a 300w monolight and it works great.

[M20 Female] I've placed multiple orders for steel junior cine stands for use with continuous lighting during film production. Although they are not as compact to store or as light to transport as aluminum stands, in daily use the steel stands are more solid feeling and durable especially for heavy key lights or for use with boom attachments. Over time the compression/friction materials in the extension joints hold up better resulting in firmer attachment and a quieter set. Add shot bags or cable guys for extra security. The leveling leg is a nice convenience while the stand is placed on an uneven or sloping surface. Multiple stands can be used in conjunction with large frames for shade or reflector material. They work better than lighweight aluminum for off-center lighting accessories such as softboxes or lightbanks.
