The tan Countryman E6i Directional Earset Mic for Azden Transmittersis a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6i earset's cable terminates to a 4-pin Hirose connector for direct connection to Azden UHF 41BT wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this have a headphone out?

A: No it does not have output for headphones.

Q: 2. Will these mics work with Canon Vixia camcorders? What is the best wired mic for use with these canon vixia camcorders?

A: Canon Vixia camcorders are not able to supply power to mics that require it such as the Azden EX-503. You will need to use a mic that is able to supply its own power which is generally by a battery. The Polsen OLM-10 is one example which features a small battery inline.

Q: 3. How is the built quality?

A: Good

Q: 4. Is the 1/8 in output for monitoring with headphones?

A: Hello. Thank you for your inquiry in regards to the SMX-15 Powered Shotgun Video Microphone. The SMX-15 does not have a headphone monitor output. The only ways to monitor audio with the SMX-15 are either if you have the microphone plugged into an audio adapter, or your camera provides a headphone monitor output jack. The 1/8 (3.5mm) output is for plugging into your cameras MIC input.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Panasonic HC-WXF1 UHD 4K camcorder & what Boom is the Best (inexpensive) set up for this mic?

A: Yes, the SMX-30 is fully compatible with the Panasonic HC-WXF1 camcorder. I don't have a recommendation for the "best" boom setup, but I'll add that any boom will work with the SMX-30 so long as it has a 1/4"-20 size male thread. If the boom you want does not have that size thread you can buy the appropriate thread adapter. Lastly, you will need to use a 3.5 mm TRS extension cable if you plan on mounting the SMX-30 at any distance from the camera.

Q: 6. Will it come with foam and clip or i have to buy it extra??

A: I have three of these. It comes with the foam and clip.

Q: 7. What is the head diameter of the microphone?

A: I don't have it with me but - with the foam buffer its around 15-18mm without 8-10mm

Q: 8. What is the size of the thread on the bottom? 3/8 or 1/4

A: The Azden SMX-30 Stereo/Mono Switchable mic has 1/4" 20 threads on the bottom of the shock mount.

Q: 9. Which mic is best for wildlife (in front of the camera). Is it the SMX-15 or a stereo version (smx-30). I both want the sound from the around the camera

A: I would probably look at the SMX-30. You can switch between mono and stereo so you can get that atmosphere sound as well as your subject. Or just focus on your subject. If it were me Id record a bit of both and overlay the two so you can adjust the background to be less pronounced than your focus.

Q: 10. does this mic require 48v phantom power?

A: No, this mic is designed to be used with body pack wireless transmitters that supply 2-10 vdc.
