The Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II 8x8 MP Dante Pro Tools Interfacefeatures flagship A/D and D/A conversion, eight mic preamps, modular I/O, and an intuitive touchscreen display. The installed Connect 8x8 MP module also gives you eight analog outputs and digital I/O including AES/EBU, ADAT, and S/PDIF.

The front-panel touchscreen offers convenient access to nearly every setting such as sample rate, clock source, headphone and speaker output levels, meters for all I/O, and section navigation, as well as input levels, digital I/O, and configuration settings.

The rear panel provides access to the two I/O module slots—one occupied by the Connect 8x8 MP and the other open for future expansion, while two RJ45 connectors ensure easy integration with Dante audio networks. Also included are a Mini-DigiLink port and Loop Sync I/O for use with Pro Tools HD/HDX systems, Wordclock I/O connectors for synchronizing external digital equipment, and a quiet digitally controlled fan to keep everything running cool.

The Symphony I/O Mk II features an ultrahigh-fidelity DAC and headphone amplifier with Apogee's Constant Current Drive technology, which dynamically compensates for nonlinearities of any connected headphones, to provide massive power while maintaining extremely low distortion and linear frequency response.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with the ultranet output of the Midas 32c ?

A: thank you for your question. The ultranet output is only personal monitoring systems such as the Behringer P-16M. To use this interface you would need to get the dante expansion card B&H # KLDN32DANTE.

Q: 2. can this device when connected to an ipad with Logic Pro, open two seperate channels for recording at the same time?

A: Yes. The Apogee Electronics BOOM 2x2 Desktop USB Type-C Audio Interface has two channels of input and two channels of output. Two separate channels of audio can be recorded at the same time.

Q: 3. Does it work with M1 iPad Pro?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 4. Hi. How can I use this as a desktop interface. What extra gear do I need to buy to just be able to connect it to my Mac and use as a desktop interface. Thx.

A: This does not connect to your computer via USB like other interfaces. This runs on Dante, so you would need an unmanaged network switch like this one to be able to connect it to your computer. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1499551-REG/netgear_gs308_300pas_gs308_8_port_gigabit_ethernet.html

Q: 5. Can you route (via Dante Controller) separately to Headphone and Line Out? As in, are they separate Dante Receivers, or do you send it one signal and both headphone and line out get the same signal?

A: The AM2 has 2 channel I/O which means you can both listen to , and monitor 2 Dante channels. There is no way to split them up between the headphone out and line out.Thank you for your question.

Q: 6. Will this work with Davinci Resolve Fairlight 19?

A: The Focusrite Red 16Line 64 x 64 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface for Pro Tools | HD (BH # FORED16LINE) will should work well with Davinci Resolve Fairlight 19 as long as the interface can be seen by the computer as a USB input device.

Q: 7. Is it possible to purchase ONLY the shoulder pad piece with the Arri Rosettes and not the part with the rod inserts?

A: We do not sell just the parts you are asking about. You should be able to obtain them from the Manufacturer as a service part though. For assistance with that feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.

Q: 8. Will this work with the C300 Mark II?

A: No, the ARRI Pro Set for Canon C300 Mk III/C500 Mk II does not work with any other cameras.

Q: 9. What is the exact DAC chipset manufacturer/model please?

A: The manufacturer has not provided any details about the DAC chipset used in the Apogee Electronics Symphony Desktop 10x14 USB Audio Interface. For further assistance with your inquiry, you can contact Apogee directly through the link on their support page: https://apogeedigital.com/company/contact

Q: 10. Hi Dan, does the headphone output of the RedNet X2P show up on the Dante network? or do i have to purchase the RedNet AM2?

A: You are correct, you need to purchase the Rednet AM2 for full control of the headphone out put on a Dante network. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

[2x RJ45 Dante] Such a simple device that makes all the difference. Get the XLR connection secured and detached from the boom pole.

Secures snugly between Zeppelin/shockmount and the tip of the boom pole, and can be positioned quickly and easily. No more tape or Bongo ties to keep the connectors secure!

[8] At first glance you will just fall in love with how this interface looks.

with an all black design and a scratch resistant glass on top this is a thing of beauty. This whole design by apogee resembles apple's design Philosophy and it fits perfectly on your desk next to your mac . But the beauty of this device lies in the knob. Its clicky and extremely tactile delivering a luxurious-feel for dialing in monitor levels and mic pre gain. It also has meters on the front which shows audio level while playback and recording. Btw did i mention this knob glows.. Now enough of me drooling over the design lets talk about the ports. So the ports are available via the breakout cable with

2x Mic/line inputs

2x " Instrument inputs

2x " Balanced outputs

2 USB Type C ports and one 0 ohms headphone output which means you get the best performance with any headphone available today, regardless of headphone impedance

[+26 dBu ] This little device is easy to use and has great clean sound. Plugged it into tone bridge to practice and was set to go!

Built on a metal case it’s study. Not too happy about the middle button as it’s rubbery and doesn’t provide good feedback but not a big deal.

Wish it had a USB-C instead of micro USB and could have used another amp output rather than just a headphone jack.

[8] I upgraded my Apogee Element 24 to this new Symphony Desktop interface. The first thing I noticed was the quality of the headphone preamp.
I don't have a well treated room in my apartment. So mixing with headphone(Sennheiser HD650 is my main workhorse) is my usual practice. Element 24 has a solid HP. But the HP on Symphony Desktop gives me even better details and clearer bottom end on frequency spectrum. Compared to Symphony Desktop, the HP on Element was a bit muddy at the bottom end. The sound stage is also noticeably wider with symphony desktop.
For mic preamp, I haven't done any comparison yet. I'll update this post when I have time to do it.

[8] I have had a Duet on my officedesk since the first one was released [X] years ago. Since I am constantly listening to music, reviewing mixes and making sure I have the cleanest, highest quality audio coming out of my Mac, my Duet is the only DAC I trust to ensure that I'm hearing music as it's intended to sound. And the Duet 3 is just the sleekest, coolest looking one to date. I love the big control knob, the ability to quick-mute without having to reach for my mouse, and how straightforward, intuitive and seamlessly it integrates with the Mac OS (for outputs and inputs alike). Apogee gear, and the Duet specifically, have just become such a trusted part of my setup - I don't ever want to listen to music out of my rig without it.
