The Audio-Technica ATR1200X Dynamic Vocal/Instrument Micfrom Audio-Technica ATR1200X Dynamic Vocal/Instrument Micis a cardioid dynamic handheld microphone designed to capture audio for vocals and instruments. It can be used for live stage and rehearsal applications and offers quality and durability with a polar pattern that presents natural protection against feedback. It features an on/off switch and a permanently attached 16.5' cable that terminates to a 3.5mm mini-jack connector. In addition, a desk stand, an adjustable stand clamp, and a 1/4" cable adapter are included.

A: This is not a wireless mic. A 15 feet XLR to 1/4 cable is included for you to use and plug in.

A: The Audio-Technica ATR1300 is a dynamic mic which requires no external powering. This makes it widely compatible with devices that feature mic input capabilities. This is true for DSLRs as well as portable audio recorders and similar devices. Unfortunately the Nikon D3100 specifically, does not offer an external mic input jack and would not be able to this or external mics in general.

Q: 4. I was wondering if this would work with the ATW-R3100b receiver?

A: The Audio-Technica ATM610a/S requires a cable to operate. This mic has no wireless capability built in. The Audio Technica 3000 series requires a wireless handheld transmitter such as the ATW-T371b. Available in multiple frequencies to match 3000 series receivers currently available. Q: 5. Shure says this doesnt require phantom power.. sooo.. what does that mean? can i plug it into an xlr-usb cable and have it work fine on my pc/mac?

A: An XLR to USB cable alone would not be sufficient to convert the analog output of this mic to a digital signal that a computer can read via USB, so if you plugged it in with just the cable, your computer will not be able to detect the attached microphone and would not be able to use it for recordings. Since it is not a USB mic that has a built-in A/D converter, this item would require the use of an XLR to USB Adaptor (such as the Shure X2U) or other interface connected between the mic and computer.

A: Yes, I am very satisfied with mine.

A: Yes, it is compatible with the 70D. It is 2" in diameter and 7.3" long.

Q: 8. Does this mic have phantom power sensing? Can I plug it into a deck with active phantom power (via XLR)?

A: This is a dynamic microphone which does not require phantom power to operate. Plugging it into a mixer, speaker or other device that has phantom power engaged will neither enhance its performance nor damage it.

A: The Audio Technica ATR 1100 is a dynamic handheld mic that requires no power in order to operate and can be connected to almost any device that accepts a 1/8 or 1/4 mic jack. This includes PA systems, camcorders, voice recorders, etc.

[End Address] I bought this product to use in a home karaoke environment. It already comes with TRS jacks on very robust cords. For the price, this is one of the best corded microphones you can buy. The sound quality is excellent and the microphone is very, very resistant to feedback and rejection. Not to mention the fact that there's plenty of cord length. Very versatile piece of equipment. 5

[Black] I'm using this product as a PC microphone. I've attached it to the top of my 27 Widescreen LCD Monitor using the MIC-EZE M-1 (albeit with substantial difficulty). The mic itself works perfectly with my PC after being paired with an ART Tube MP Preamplifier. This mic is surprisingly quite heavy. Probably because it is a dynamic microphone and not a condenser mic. I'm not a big fan of the stand clamp it ships with as it takes a significant effort to attach/detach the mic to it. It doesn't seem to be truly unidirectional to me. When Skyping with someone they can still hear me quite well even when I move laterally away from the mic while it is attached to the top of my monitor. This was actually a pleasant surprise for me, but other potential buyers may not like this characteristic. It should be noted that I can't definitively compare this mic to others of the same type, because it is the first XLR mic I've ever purchased. Attaching this mic to my LCD monitor using the MIC-EZE M-1 was not easy, but barely doable by wedging an extra metal square bracket into the M-1. Someone REALLY needs to manufacture a microphone mount which utilizes the VESA mounting mechanism now commonly found on the backs of LCD monitors! Overall, given the high quality of the mic and the amazing price, I'd say this is definitely the microphone you want to use with your PC. You will need a pre-amp and mounting mechanism to make it work for this purpose though. 5

[0.945 lb] I bought two of these. I film weddings and these work great for catching audio from the people, music, etc. Can't complain about these at all, they are nothing fancy but they do the job and pick up nicely. 5
