The versatile Zylight F8 Bi-Color Fresnel Kit with Casefrom Zylight F8 Bi-Color Fresnel Kit with Caseis a 200W, bi-color LED light, which incorporates a large 8" Schott Glass Fresnel lens with a 16 to 70° zoom range, which throws a single shadow beam. It provides the equivalent light output as a 400W HMI fixture at a fraction of the price. With a high CRT/TLCI rating of 96/97, the high-efficiency LED assures highly accurate color and flesh tone rendering. The included four-leaf barndoor allows the light output to be directed and flagged to help highlight the subject and reduce potential lens flare. With all these features, the F8 still folds flat to less than five inches for storage and transportation.

Output may be controlled locally using the intuitive control knobs and LED display for precise and repeatable results, or remotely via wireless DMX function with the accessory Zylight DMX Interface Box, available separately. Brightness and color temperature may also be remotely controlled using the Zylink 2.45GHz Wireless Bridge, also available separately.

The included multi-voltage worldwide AC adapter allows the F8 to be used anywhere in the world where power mains are available. It may also be operated with V-Mount or Gold Mount batteries using battery adapter plates, available separately.

The incorporated whisper-silent fan keeps the F8 actively cooled, but is quiet enough that it may be used in most video applications where live audio is being recorded. The rugged aluminum chassis and IP54 environmental rating allows traveling and light harsh environments almost anywhere.

A: According to Zylight, the F8-D has the light output just below a 1000 watt tungsten fresnel and the light output equivalent to 200 watts of HMI. As for how long a 150Wh battery would last on this light, you would get about 1.5 hours of life at full power.

A: Yes the F8 LED Fresnel ships with a set of barndoors.

A: The 200w version has double the power of the 100w version.

A: I'm not sure about the option you mention. I bought the speed ring and the softbox specifically made for the light by Chimera. It's lovely. (expensive, but worth it)

A: This light has a 200W LED vs the Arri 115w LED. It is brighter, but it lacks the features, and control of the Arri L5.

Q: 9. IP54 WX rating... that is the same as Bron Kobold HMIs yes? Will this hold up in hurricane conditions like the Bron?

A: No. IP54= Ingress of dust is not totally prevented but dust does not enter in harmful quantities to interfere with the correct operation or impair safety of the unit. The unit can take Low pressure spray from any angle for about 10 minutes – commonly referred to as splash proof but I wont go as far to say it is hurricane proof.

[2800 to 6000K] Bright and rugged - a nice quality of light. To my eye, it doesn't feel quite as directional as a traditional tungsten fresnel, but it's a great light to balance against daylight in an interview setup and it looks beautiful through a chimera. 5

[50,000 Hours] This is an amazing instrument. From the way it's constructed, ease of use and of course the quality of light. The barn doors are extremely well thought out - it can make a very small circle light at full spot! Great to have instead of schlepping a snoot around. It's expensive, but it's a great light - and very easy to travel with. I also purchased the Chimera that makes it a perfect documentary light. Fits in a Pelican 1560. (they say it's light rain proof for exteriors, but I haven't tried that yet) 5
