A: This is a direct fit for the unit and replaces RBC123 directly. Time remaining will look shorter than actual if the unit is designed for the lower capacity unit, but time is extended. I replaced the unit long after warranty expired so was not an issue for me.

Q: 3. How long should this battery last? I've used the one that came with APC Battery Back-UPS Pro BX1500M for just under 2 years and the battery is already dead / needs replaced; is this typical?

[Lead-Acid] There was a minor problem with a small plastic tab that got bent and prevented the connector from latching. Once the tab was removed, everything worked as good as new. 5

[14.735 lb] Our APC Battery Backup and Power Conditioner has been a lifesaver for our electronics. We have a lot of "brownouts" where the lights don't go out but just dim which is so hard on all of your electronics. Replacing the battery was super easy and took less than 5 mins.
