The Launcher from Soyuz Microphones is a clean booster for one dynamic microphone, designed to give it more gain if your mic preamp isn't giving you a strong enough mic level without imparting unwanted noise. However, unlike other clean boosters, the Launcher is not designed to give you a clean gain boost. Instead, it boosts while imparting a vintage, analog sound, reminiscent of a classic console.

A: I use a regular Fethead and it delivers a boost of about 20 db. I use it often with my Zoom and Tascam small recorders and it does a great job of boosting gain-hungry mics such as SM7B and RE20. Hope this helps.

If you want to use an ECM-55B or ECM-77B you'll need the FetHead Phantom unless you want to locally power the mic with an AA battery. Once locally powered, the mic will behave like a standard dynamic mic.
