[Full Frame] This is my second review regarding my 11mm IRIX lens.
I got a new email right today, and they explained the reasons for the delay sending the lens back to me.
So, I am happy again, looking forward to having my lens soon back in Costa Rica.
Great lens, I insist.

[Full Frame] My third Irix (have the 15mm in EF and K mount) and its amazing. Smooth focusing, nice feel and features such as focus lock and a detent for infinity, which I use a lot since a super wide rarely needs to be focused anyway, so no concerns about no auto-focus because you don't need it. Only gripe is the lens cap which fits rather loosely, and you wouldn't want to loose it since there,s no front filter threads. And it's a dark lens, or My copy is. Had to comp exposure 1 - 1 1/2 steps, simple fix. Iv'e read that some people have a distortion issue and they must have gotten a bad one because I was blown away with how little, if any distortion with mine (pictures have had NO correction done in post!). Now I want it in EF mount also!

[9, Rounded] I am surprised by how well built this cheaper Firefly version of the lens is; it feels robust. The images that come out of this lens are sharp even wide open at f/4. Additionally, it's very easy to get your subject in focus with a very long rotation on the focus ring which is also very smooth to turn. I would definitely recommend this lens if one is interested in a very wide angle lens for their full frame camera especially considering it's much cheaper than the Canon 11-24 f/4L lens; as long as you're ok with manually focusing which isn't a problem as 11mm provides a deep depth of field. Overall I'm very happy with this lens.

[Full Frame] Awesome lens for scenery, landscapes, cramped interiors ... really opens things up!
Packaging
was excellent, lens was inside a sturdy metal box with heavy duty foam
inserts, inside a durable cardboard box, inside a padded cardboard box
from B&H.
This lens seems very well built, gives sharp images,
and has features I wish other lens makers would use in their lenses; the
hyper-focal distance scale, click stop infinity detent, and raised
'lever' on focusing ring to name a few.
I would definitely recommend this lens as an inexpensive, lightweight, super-ultra-wide-angle lens !!!

[43.3 mm] A very substantial and solidly built piece of glass. Excellent quality. The lens is very sharp with great color and contrast. If you're like me, you may need to work on your focusing skills since it's a manual focus lens. Usually not an issue because infinity covers a huge area in such a wide angle lens. Irix is very proud of their packaging but I found it pretty insubstantial. The can is very flimsy and thin. Not nearly as tough as your average coffee can. B&H might consider packaging this with a little extra padding. UPS, my least favorite carrier, was pretty rough with mine and the can was actually bent. Fortunately, the very nice semi-hard lens case that comes with the Blackstone version did a nice job of protecting the lens. If you need or just want a super wide angle non-fisheye lens, this is a great value.
