This 11mm lens will produce a classic wide-angle look or up to a 123° viewing angle in the 2.39:1 widescreen format, depending on your camera's sensor. External features include a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and a detachable 1/4"-20 support foot.

This lens features a relatively fast T4.3 maximum aperture and can be stopped down to T22.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Why no Nikon F mount then it could be adapted to more than one camera!?

A: I am sorry to say we are not aware of the reason why IRIX does not make this lens with a Nikon F mount.

Q: 2. Does anybody have any insight on this lens vs a Venus laowa 12mm zero d 2.9?

A: The IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC11EFI) is slightly wider but lets less light enter. The Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) (B&H# VE1229CC) is sharper and faster.

Q: 3. I want to mount this lens on my PL-mount ZCAM camera and on my EF-mount Blackmagic 6K Pro. Which adapter ring is best?

A: There are two options that would allow you to mount a PL lens like the IRIX 45mm T1.5 Cine Lens to your Black Magic Pocket 6K Pro. The best option is from Wooden ( BH #WO274700) which would convert your P6K to a PL mount camera. Also there are PL to EF adapters ( BH #FOPCEAAP ) that could also be an option. Please note that the IRIX lens has not been tested with the FotodioX PL to EF adapter.

Q: 4. Can I use an EF mount IRIX cine lens with a Sigma EF to L mount or like adapter on the new Blackmagic FF cinema camera 6K?

A: Yes, using the Sigma MC-21 adapter, the IRIX 45mm T1.5 Cine Lens can work perfectly on the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K (Leica L).

Q: 5. Is this compatible with any clamp on matte boxes or does the front piece protrude too much?

A: The IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Meters) doesn't have filter threads so there wouldn't be a way to get the adapters of the clamp on matte boxes on to the lens.

Q: 6. In a BMPCC 6K Pro camera, this 11mm equals to what mm?

A: The IRIX 11mm Lens on the BMPCC 6K Pro will become roughly a 16.5mm lens.

Q: 7. Would this be a good lens for astrophotography? And what about Timelapse work?

A: The IRIX 45mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Canon RF, Feet, Black) can be used for astrophotography and time-lapse work. But most prefer a lens that is wider.

Q: 8. Would I be able to put a clip on mattbox on this lens to use a polarizer or would that vignette?

A: The diameter of the front of the IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC11EFI) -- not to be confused with the filter size -- is 95mm which is a very common size to which to attach a matte box. Yes, it would be possible to do so. Given the ultra wide nature of the field of view, however, there will of course be at least some amount of vignetting regardless of the size of the filter, but that is unavoidable.

Q: 9. Looks like you couldn't use a clamp on matte box with this lens because of the lens support?

A: The IRIX 15mm Cine Lens (PL, Feet) has 86mm front filter threads. You can use a step up ring to clamp on a matter box.

Q: 10. How's the focus breathing on this lens?

A: There is very little focus breathing on this lens.

[T4.3] I use this coupled with my BMPCC 6K Pro. Like most cinema lenses, this is massive. Be prepared for a workout if you are going handheld. Gearing is very smooth, although a bit stiff if not using a focus wheel. I own all of the cinema lenses and two of the three have decent magnetic hoods, while one does not appear to be as strong. This doesn't affect me as I utilize a matte box. Like most have stated, the lense cover is complete garbage. Pops off for no apparent reason.

[43.3 mm] I recently purchased the IRIX 45mm, 150mm, and this 15mm the color from all the lenses seem to match very well. This lens has very little distortion for being such a wide lens.

[9] 15mm on S35 is great. I thought this would be too wide and wished IRIX made a 25 or 35 but actually to compliment the existing 45 they sell this 15 is a good match feeling wide but not super distorted wide. Magnetic hoods are cool, but not so much if you are filming metalworking - all the dust just sits on those magnets. Minor quibble but the lens is great!
