The light beige Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Earset Mic for Audix Transmittersis a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6i earset's cable terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to Audix B60 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a foam cover available that will fit this?

A: Yes. Rode offers: ROINTERVIEWG

Q: 2. Would this work plugged directly into an iPhone (ios 8.2, and assuming I have the right lightning cable)?

A: The CAD U7 is designed for use with Mac or PC computers via USB only. Unfortunately at this time there is no smartphone support for this device.

Q: 3. How long of a USB extension can be used with this and still have it be effective? 20 feet? More?

A: For best functionality, it's recommended to keep standard usb cables under 10'. If you need to have longer runs, you would need an active usb extension cable to help prevent data transmission issues, such as BH #KRCAUAMUAF25.

Q: 4. Can I plug this in directly to a church PA system or does it need to go through a mixer?

A: The Audix APS2 only provides Phantom power to mics which require it. No preamplification. The outputs from the unit are mic level and can be connected to any device that features a mic input such as a mixer or PA system.

Q: 5. Is this comparable with the Audix HT2 -Condenser Headworn Microphone?

A: This kit comes with the Audix HT2 condenser headworn microphone.

Q: 6. Does this work with Sennheiser ME-2 Microphone Mic Lavalier?

A: No. It seems to only be compatible with Audix mikes. I bought one to use with a Shure Beta 54 mic, but it doesn't work - even though they both have the mini-XLR connector, the Shure has one more pin than the Audix. The Sennheiser ME-2 has a 1/8 connector, so it wouldn't work with the Audix adapter at all.

Q: 7. How is the cable attached to the camera?

A: The Xcellon HDWC-10 Full HD Webcam has a USB cable that is permanently attached to the back of the camera. The USB connector just needs to be plugged into a USB port on the computer.

Q: 8. does it work with Zoom H1 Handy Recorder?

A: Yes, it does

Q: 9. Can this be used with other than Audix mics?

A: It's actually a bit more complicated that John P's answer. You have to make sure the polarity on the mic you want to use is matched to the polarity of the power supply. I bought this power supply intending to use it with a non-Audix mic but the polarities were not matched and I only got a very faint, noisy signal. Bought an Audix mic and it works great.

Q: 10. Is this Microphone can be hanging from the ceiling as well?

A: You can, but it is not intended to be hung from the ceiling. You may want to consider the Astatic 2600VP for a high quality hanging mic: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/754716-REG/Astatic_2600VP_Variable_Polar_Pattern_Hanging.html
