The light beige Countryman E6 Omnidirectional Earset Mic for Audio Technicais a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6 earset's cable terminates to a cH-style 4-pin connector for direct connection to Audio Technica ATW-T5201 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.

The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do I need to buy anything extra for it to attach to my camera's hot shoe?

A: no you shouldn't need to

Q: 2. I wanted to use this headset to dictate to a computer while listening to output audio. From the connectors, I am not sure it will work. I have an andrea pure audio external sound card with two inputs for headset and mic. How would that work with this product?

A: It is not made to use with a computer. This is a professional broadcast headset for broadcasting sporting events and this type of thing. It has 2 connectors on it one XLR and one neither one is available on a computer. It is normally plugged into a broadcast console that has the ability to accept both types of connectors. I would check with computers where they will have headsets for computers that will have these same functions. Only they are purpose built for computers.

Q: 3. Is there a repair kit to replace only the elastic and rubber bands?

A: The replacement parts you need are available directly from Audio-Technica. You can reach them by email at parts@atus.com or by phone at 330-686-2600.

Q: 4. I have a technical question, I'm hoping you can help. - I own a Zoom H5. - I have just purchased the BPHS1 - I want to record Skype interviews (for my podcast) but am a little unsure on how to configure Zoom to achieve this. From my Mac, I have a cable that goes from the audio out, into the TRS input #2 on the H5 - to record my guest's voice. My headset/mic will be plugged into the XLR input #1 on the H5 - to record my voice. What do I need to do, to be able to HEAR my guest's voice? Is there anything in particular I need to configure on the H5?

A: The scenario you are describing requires the routing of audio in a way that is a bit more complex, and would best be served by using a mixer and audio interface. Connect the BPHS1 into a mixer like the Alto ZMX862 Zephyr. Take AUX SEND 1 out and plug it into input 1 of an audio interface like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface (2nd Generation). With regards to the skype audio in your computer, Take the master out of the audio interface and plug it into a stereo channel of the alto mixer. Now that all of the audio is in the mixer, take the master output and plug it into your Zoom H5 to record .

Q: 5. will this mic work with my canon vixia HF R500?

A: Rico, it should work just fine, see page 84 of your manual. However, note that I do not see a hot-shoe mount on your canon model. Which means it would have to be attached to your camera somehow (rubberbands) or hand-held, which would not be optimal.

Q: 6. Is this compatible on a Sony Mirrorless A7R IV?

A: Yes, the Audio-Technica Pro-24CM - Stereo Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony a7R IVA Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 7. Which case comes with this microphone? I have an old AT815b and my case just fell apart. I need a replacement case

A: The Audio-Technica AT8035 Long Shotgun Microphone includes the Audio-Technica SG1 Case. Audio-Technica specifies the SG3 Case for use with the AT815b Line+ Gradient Condenser Microphone, which is not offered by B&H at this time.

Q: 8. Is the AT8035 moisture resistant?

A: No, the Audio-Technica AT8035 Long Shotgun Microphone is not moisture-resistant. As an option for a long shotgun microphone that is moisture-resistant, you can use the Deity Microphones S-Mic 2 Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone (B&H # DESMIC2) or the RODE NTG3B Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone (B&H # RONTG3B).

Q: 9. Hi, Would this mic be compatible with the sony hxr-nx100? If not could suggest a similar mic that would be. Cheers, -Mike

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the top of the mic?

A: Approx 7/8 of an inch.
