The beige VT500WATER Waterproof Omni Lavalier Microphone from Voice Technologies is designed using a special injection-molded treatment that allows it to be temporarily submerged under water, without incurring any damage. This flexibility makes it suitable for use while broadcasting outdoors and at sports events. In addition, the microphone is rugged and shockproof and also comes with a flexible cable, which has excellent isolation from handling noise. The microphone's cable has an unterminated 3-wire pigtail.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the receiver and transmitter charge while in use?

A: It is possible to operate the transmitter and receiver when they are charging, however, Sennheiser does recommend turning the units off during charging. More details are listed here, under "charging the rechargeable battery": https://bit.ly/3Tfq0rz

Q: 2. Is there a gain control?

A: No, there is no gain control. These are meant to be a cable replacement only. For a unit with gain control, here's a similar 2.4ghz option BH #RORODLNKFM.

Q: 3. Can the receiver unit receive two simultaneous channels or can it only receive from one transmitter at a time?

A: No it can’t. In the features it clearly says: “Multi-pairing lets you quickly switch between multiple transmitters linked to one receiver (note that only one transmitter can broadcast to one receiver at a time)”

Q: 4. Does this kit include the hotshoe mount adapter to mount the receiver to the hotshoe of the camera?

A: No it doesn’t. The receiver on this particular kit is with the XLR male which is meant to be plugged into an XLR source such as mixing boards or even cameras with an XLR input. Since it’s plugged into the XLR, a separate mounting isn’t needed not possible. There are various other camera kits with a mini output which do come with shoe mount adapters.

Q: 5. This article includes the Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser/trs Adapter? Thanks Renzo.

A: No, the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone does not come with the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter for Sennheiser transmitters; however, the adapter is included with the Deity Microphones W.Lav DA35 Bundle Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter (B&H # DEWLAVD35).

Q: 6. Will this work with the Rode Wireless Pro? Thanks!

A: You can use BH #DEDA35 with the Deity W.Lav Pro to connect it to the Rode Wireless Pro. The transmitter in the Rode Wireless Pro will provide up to 3.3V of plug-in power.

Q: 7. If you bought two sets of this version of the XS kit, will the XLR receivers clear the XLR jacks and camera body of a Sony FS-7M2?

A: Due to the physical build of the Sony PXW-FS7M2 XDCAM body and the form factor of the Sennheiser XSW-D XLR MALE RX Plug-In Receiver, it does not appear that the receivers in the Sennheiser XSW-D LAVALIER SET Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System will successfully mount to the XLR inputs on the PXW-FS7M2 camera.

Q: 8. If this is used with a 32-bit recorder such as the tascam x8 or zoom f6, will the clipping be fixable in post?

A: It is very difficult to clip a 32-bit converter, but it is still possible to overload a mic capsule if you surpass the SPL it is designed for. A 32-bit recorder won't help with this, and if you somehow do clip the ADC on the way in it won't help with that either, but it does make clipping extremely unlikely due to the amount of headroom it gives you. If you are routinely running into problems with clipping during recording, or if there is no one on hand to adjust levels on the fly, a 32-bit recorder can be a game changer.

Q: 9. will this work with the Rode Wireless Go II?

A: Yes. With this adapter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/390976-REG/DPA_Microphones_DAD6034_DAD6034_MicroDot_to_Locking.html

Q: 10. Can I use this with microdot adapter that supplies 5-8v? Is that too high for this mic, given stated 2.5-3.3VDC requirement?

A: Yes, the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone can be used with a Microdot adapter, however, the voltage is supplied by the device that the mic is connected to, not by the adapter itself, unless the adapter has a power supply. For example, the W.Lav Pro can be used with the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter (B&H # DEDA35) for connection to a wireless transmitter like the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter, which will supply 3V DC to the mic through the input. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like assistance to select the appropriate adapter for your application.

[40 Hz to 20 kHz] This a great sounding mic. The cable is ultra thin, it comes in an Otter Type box with all the right accessories.

[3 kΩ] I bought two and the clear case's they came in are great, I just keep them in there until the next shoot.

[7 x 7 x 7"] This is a great sounding lav with an amazing price that I've recently used on a professional shoot. It works on many voices and has a wider frequency response and maximum spl (20 Hz to 20 kHz, 130dB SPL) than the popular Sanken COS-11D (50-20khz, 127dB SPL).

When micing properly, you will get amazing low mids that will add extra umph to the voice without it being sibilant. Some might find that's not as natural sounding, however, pro tip: add low cut filter on your mixer/recorder or post and it will take away that umph and give you a natural sound. It is also better for a mic to capture more frequencies so you have more to work with.

At this price that will sound amazing (and better than some boom mics) when you pair it with the right system, this is a no brainer. It also has a great size with good water/weatherproofing. Don't let the brand and the price fool you.

[Beige] I got this mic on deal zone day. It was a great price and now after using the mic I'm so glad I got it for that cheap. It produces a great sound. I was surprised at the low amount of ambient noise taken in. I used it on talent in busy streets and it picked up mostly just my talents voice. All the extras it comes with is great, the windscreen, the pin connector for clothes, the clip, and the rubber pouch to help with ruffling noise. By far the best Lavalier mic I've used so far.

[7 x 7 x 7"] I just want to say this is an awesome little mic. I've owned one for years and I've always enjoyed its sound, and frequency response. Especially convenient is the alligator clip which aids in concealment on most bras. Push up bras still present a challenge. I felt compelled to offer my review as another customer had written something negative. It has to be that operator error was at issue in his case. Anyway, a big thumbs up from a professional sound mixer.

[40 Hz to 20 kHz] These are the best lavalier mics I've used so far. Low self noise, and low handling noise. I thought these were better for hiding under clothes than the Countryman B6.
