The cocoa Countryman E6 Directional Earset Mic, Medium Gain, TA4F for Shureis a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6 earset's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure MXW1 and MXW1/0=-Z11 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.

The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. CAN THESE BE USED WITH THE OLDER GLXD RECEIVERS since it's both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz? thanks!

A: Yes, the Shure PA805DB-RSMA Dual-Band Passive Directional Antenna can be used for the older Shure GLX-D systems when operating on the 2.4 GHz band.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the Shure SLXD1 body pack?

A: No. This version of the Shure UL4 UniPlex Cardioid Subminiature Lavalier Microphone has a standard 3-pin XLR connector for connection to the mic input on a mixer, amplifier, recorder, camera, etc. The Shure SLXD1 Bodypack Transmitter requires a TA4F 4-pin mini-XLR female connector for connection to a wireless bodypack transmitter. You will want to use the Shure UL4 UniPlex Cardioid Subminiature Lavalier Microphone for Bodypack Transmitter - Black, TA4F (B&H # SHUL4BCMTQGA) for connection to the Shure SLXD1 Transmitter.

Q: 3. may be dumb question but will this stand on a desk without falling over or does it need mounted?

A: The desktop stand in this product should hold up the mic properly without falling.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Countryman E6 to convert from Shure wireless to XLR wired?

A: Although designed by Shure for use with their Twinplex microphones, the Shure Wired TwinPlex Microphone Preamp with Belt Clip (TA4F to XLR) should work with other microphones such as the Countryman E6 that are wired with a TA4F connector.

Q: 5. can this be used with PGXD4 and BLX4R models?

A: No, the Shure PA805DB-RSMA Dual-Band Passive Directional Antenna for GLX-D+ Wireless (2.4, 5.8 GHz) is not compatible for use with either the Shure PGXD4 Digital Wireless Receiver or the Shure BLX4R Wireless Receiver. The PGXD4 has fixed antennas (not removable) and it operates on the 900 MHz band, and the BLX4F operates on the UHF band, so the antenna will not work with either of these receivers since it is specifically for the GLX-D+ series receivers which operate on the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands.

Q: 6. will this fit a sony condenser mic?

A: It might fit your SONY mic if its dimensions are similar to the Shure VP89M Modular Shotgun Microphone B&H # SHVP89M

Q: 7. Does the microphone have the mute button and the light ring?

A: The Shure CVG12-B/C Centraverse 12" Gooseneck Microphone and Desktop Base Kit (BH # SHCVG12BCDBK) (B&H Kit) has no mute switch or LED light ring.

Q: 8. What is the best mic stand adaptor / gooseneck adaptor combination for mounting this mic or a similar gooseneck mic on a stand? The mic will be used for a church cantor and announcements. Plus, sometimes a small choir will sing around this mic. Maybe we should use a small body condenser that comes with a stand adaptor. Ideas?

A: This mic may be mounted to a desk/table stand or to a permanent flange-type mount typically used on a podium: Shure - Centraverse Desktop Base (Black) - B&H# SHCVDB ----------- Shure - A400SM - Recessed Shock Mount for Gooseneck Mics - B&H# SHA400SM

Q: 9. does this work with Shure WL 185 thanks?

A: No, the Shure Wired TwinPlex Microphone Preamp with Belt Clip is only compatible with TwinPlex series Shure microphones.

Q: 10. Do I have to use Shure's Centraverse Desktop Base? Or could I just plug directly into an XLR-F panel mount on a table?

A: The CVG18 can be used with any XLR panel, so long as you have a means to provide phantom power.
