The black Kramer WP-572 HDMI Wall Plate Receiveris a DGKat twisted pair receiver for HDMI signals. The WP-571 (not included) converts an HDMI signal to a single twisted pair signal and the WP-572 converts the twisted pair signal back to an HDMI signal.

The receiver supports a maximum data rate of up to 4.95 Gb/s. DGKat twisted technology converts TMDS as well as control and communication to signals that run over twisted pair cables. EDID PassThru passes EDID signals between the source and display. A single connection to the transmitter powers the receiver.

Transmission range depends on the signal resolution, graphics card, and display used. The distance using non-Kramer Cat 5, 6, and 7 cables may not reach these ranges. Use only shielded cable where both ends of the shield are soldered to ground.

A: In theory, until you run into a device that no longer meets the HDCP negotiation or until you run out of keys to negotiate. That said, there is a limit to how much distance you'll get on a particular type of cable. For the most distance, you need shielded cat6 or better.
