The cocoa Countryman E6i Directional Earset Mic for Azden Wireless Transmittersis a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6i earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Azden 15BT and 35BT wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it work good with instruments (violin)?

A: I’m not sure with instruments, it should. It’s working good with the speaker or preacher and really clean sound.

Q: 2. Can I run two of these as in an an interview with two people wearing Arden Pro XDs?

A: Hi Paul, my name is Dave and I work for Azden. You cannot run two transmitters into one receiver, however, it is possible to use multiple PRO-XD systems simultaneously in the same area. Using two systems at the same time should be no problem. We have done successful tests with 4 systems simultaneously; running more than that is also possible. The main limiting factor is the surrounding WiFi environment. The more crowded it is, the more difficult it will be to reliably run multiple systems. This is not unique to the PRO-XD but a limitation that applies to all digital wireless systems.Another possibility with the PRO-XD is that you can use multiple receivers with one transmitter. This could be useful in situations where youre running multiple cameras; you could hook a PRO-XD receiver up to each camera and capture identical audio from the single transmitter.

Q: 3. what lav mic can i add to this.. to plug into the receiver? can i use the azden ex-503L?

A: Hi Jack, my name is Dave and I work for Azden. The PRO-XD kit does come with a lavalier microphone, in case you werent clear on that. The model of that mic is the EX-503XD. This model mic is somewhat unique as it has a TRRS (tip=ring-ring-sleeve) mini-jack connector. You can use a different microphone with the PRO-XD but it will need to have this TRRS connector. Conveniently, the PRO-XD kit includes a TS to TRRS mini-jack adapter cable, which can be used to convert any ordinary lavalier mic (with a TS connection) into one that works with the PRO-XD.Keep in mind, when using other microphones, that they will likely have different sensitivities and output levels. The output of the EX-503XD is designed to work well with the PRO-XD.

Q: 4. I plan to use this skiing. Will it transmit consistently if I place the receiver and iPhone 6+ in an internal ski jacket pocket? If it looses the link will it sync back automatically?

A: I will loose the link but it will sync back automatically.

Q: 5. Can these be recharged while in use?

A: Yes, the Azden PRO-XR Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be recharged while it is in use.

Q: 6. Can this kit be used on Samsung Galaxy 3?

A: I used it on a Galaxy S5 and it worked great. Not sure, but it would probably work with an S3 as well.

Q: 7. Does this have a 3.5 mm output? What would be the best adapter to go from that to XLR Male?

A: Mic Output: 1/8 (3.5 mm) dual-mono/stereoHeadphone Output: 1/8 (3.5 mm) stereo Adapter: Kopul XLR Male to Mini Female Adapter B&H # KOAXMMF

Q: 8. is the rechargeable battery Replacable?

A: Hello. Yes, the batteries in the PRO-XR components are replaceable, however, it must be done by a trained Azden technician as it requires some soldering. It is worth noting that the PRO-XR lithium rechargeable batteries are capable of a full (500) charging cycles before they start to slightly diminish in capacity, at which time, they can still hold a 70% charge capacity after they hit that (500) mark. So, assuming you use the system on an average of 25 hours per week, it would be over 5 years before you may have to consider replacing the battery.

Q: 9. I plan to use it with Sony HDR CX900 handycam which has a hot shoe. Will I need a shoe extension? What is the range of the Pro-XD? Is there a better mic to purchased separately, seems the only criticism is of the mic.

A: I could never get my system to work at all. It's sitting on the shelf waiting to be returned

Q: 10. If I were to buy 16 of these for TV production, would each one be on it's own channel?

A: Hello Peter P. Thank you for your inquiry in regards to the PRO-XD 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Lavalier System. Since this system operates in the 2.4GHz (WiFi) spectrum, it's not ideal to operate that many systems at one time. The WiFi spectrum only has 14 available channels, 11 of them available in the USA. Those 11 channels also have some frequency overlap. For TV production, you're better off using a UHF system like our 310 Series wireless, which has 188 selectable frequencies. The 310LT is a perfect solution and is also a very affordable solution. Going with UHF will allow for a higher number of kits to be used in proximity without worrying about open channels/frequencies.
